Carolyn B. is an excellent piano teacher

Carolyn B. has been teaching my 6yr old daughter for a year. Carolyn has a very engaging style of teaching that works extremely well for kids. She has a tested ability to skillfully refocus kid's attention by injecting fun into the lesson and reassuring the kid that "they can". She's extremely patient, is always pleasant is good at easing a child into stepping up their ability and confidence. From the start, I signed up my daughter for 1-hour lessons, unsure if she will focus. I'm amazed at how Carolyn keeps her engegaed through the hour. My daughter's skills and interest in piano continues to grow. I strongly recommend Carolyn B. to teach piano.

Great!

Carolyn has been teaching my 9 year old for just over 2 months and he has learnt immensely. She is very patient, friendly, soft spoken and my son loves her! He is a very shy kind and doesn't adjust to newer people so quickly but she is just phenomenal!

Elise showes off what she has learned, and purchases books that have music in them to learn. From what I see, Elise is happy under your teaching and I am happy too.

Brandon B. Durham, NC

About Brandon

I have 20 years playing and teaching experience. I have played in several ensembles ranging from Jazz to Metal. My focus in teaching is to bring out not just the drummer, but the complete musician residing within my students. My lessons go beyond technique and repetition, and really focus on developing a complete musical sense on the drum set. Along with drum set I also teach general percussion (snare and glockenspiel) and music theory.

I have spent most of my playing and teaching career trying to learn as many percussive styles as possible. I have found that with each new rhythmic discovery my personal drumming style ebbs and flows, and through these experiences, my style has been refined. This excitement for drumming and rhythm is what I hope to inspire in my students; so lets start ...

Brandon has exactly what I was looking for in a drum set teacher. He tailors our lessons to my specific interests and needs but doesn't allow me to neglect my weaknesses, is extremely flexible in his scheduling from week-to-week, makes me want to practice all day after each weekly lesson, and is extremely knowledgeable. The way he teaches makes me think of the drum set as a musical instrument like any other, and he makes me want to learn more about it every week. I couldn't ask for a more qualified, intelligent, or inspiring teacher. 5 stars out of 5.

I've collaborated on a number of musical projects with Gabe -- mixing, writing and recording in studios. He is extremely talented and has always been a pleasure to be around. I would definitely recommend him to my own students (I teach guitar in Durham), as his patience and ability to explain complicated ideas is excellent.

My son who is 13 took lessons with Gabriel and had a great experience. We were only able to pay for 30 minute lessons due to a tight budget, but none the less Gabriel used those short times to teach my son as much as he could! Putting his musical knowledge to use while incorporating things such as the importance and benefits of stretching your arm muscles before playing was very cool and useful, and I would highly recommend lessons with him to anyone considering drum lessons!
Kenny J. Pittsboro, NC

About Kenny

The way of fiddling that I teach is deeply rooted in authentic old-time Southern styles, especially from the Appalachian mountain region - traditional music that I've played and taught for decades. I learned this music first hand during many visits with elder masters, from countless hours of listening to and deciphering the music on old commercial and field recordings, and over many years of playing at fiddler's conventions, on back porches, and in kitchen sessions.

I have performed at major folk and traditional music festivals, and on radio and television broadcasts in the US and overseas, including A Prairie Home Companion, Good Morning America, and BBC-Belfast. With the many concerts, dances, and other venues where I've also played, I guess you could say that I have ...

Kenny Jackson is one of the world's best fiddle players! He is able to break down knowledge about his craft for the beginner to understand, and teach at any level. I am a beginning fiddle player, and while I am in awe of his musical skill, I still find him an encouraging, clear, and excellent teacher.
