A naturally high level writer, I can help improve your English skills with a fun and exciting approach.

About Ena

Miss Ena is always singing! From an early age, I have been participating in music activities, such as choir as well as various musicals like 'Oliver' and 'The Sound of Music'. As music has always been one of my best friends. Like water, I enjoy drinking from the wellspring of muse and melody. I enjoy music most when it is shared with the natural joy of children. I have an extensive background of teaching private voice, piano and guitar to children. It's the best job in the world, getting to watch a child grow through the magic of music! I received my Kindermusik license in Summer 2005. After working with Dana Harris, formerly of 'Dana's School of Music', Dana thought I would be a perfect Kindermusik teacher. My education is both experience and university based. In 2003, I ...

Kyle S. Portland, OR

I've spoken English my whole life, and have been published twice.

About kyle

Hey! My name is Kyle S. and I'm incredibly passionate about music education for all ages. Over twenty years of playing all instruments has taught me there is not one specific way to teach music, so I change my curriculum for every student and completely customize what you learn to how you learn, and what you're interested in. I started teaching music lessons in after school programs when I was eleven and fell totally in love. I continued to do this for many years driving to neighboring towns, volunteering at church youth groups and local Boys and Girls Club all around my hometown. I went on to study Music Education at Oregon State University and Guitar Performance at the University of Oregon and Jazz Performance on Guitar at Portland State University! At each of these Universities

Kyle is teaching my five year old to play piano. She is a beginner, somewhat shy and very strong willed. He is patient with her, tailoring the instruction to her speed, interests and attention span. He is skilled at praising her for her progress and continuing to push her. She responds very well to the open learning environment he has created and feels comfortable with him even after only a few lessons. I was concerned starting her so young, but she expressed great interest and Kyle has connected with that in a lovely way. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

Kyle has been one of the most helpful music teachers I've had the privilege to take lessons from. He cuts through all of the extraneous pedantries that so often inhibit real effective music instruction and learning. He is approachable and down to earth while wielding a vast and comprehensive knowledge of music, which makes for a genuinely satisfying and productive educational experience. Five stars for sure.

Kyle has a deep understanding of music. He knows the theory far beyond an ivy halls definition of things. He understands what is important and what is used by a playing musician. This is helping me get a deep understanding of music. I am very confident that if I put in the effort I can not help but become a good musician who will be able to lay a nice arrangement under a melody or accompany myself or others. Kyle gives you the knowledge and the exercises needed to succeed. I highly recommend Kyle.
Peter L. Portland, OR

About Peter

Hello! This is Pete LaMalfa, a pianist from the New York City area. I graduated from the Purchase College conservatory of music this winter with a B.M. in Jazz Studies. While in New York, I taught many students from ages five to sixty. Teaching piano has been a big part of my life for around eight years, and I am very passionate about helping people to learn to make music. At school, I was very involved in history, geography, civics and writing in school and have received honors in these subjects. I have traveled to many different countries and love meeting new people. Every lesson for each student will be completely individual; I will work with YOU to figure out what you want out of the lessons and we will work together to achieve it!
