About Me

Catherine D. has worked with musical theater and opera companies regionally and internationally. She has performed in a variety of musicals and operas, including The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo), Honk!ˆ (Henrietta), Once Upon A Mattress (Lady Rowena), Once On This Island, Miss Saigon, Aida, Singing In The Rain, Seussical the Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Die Fledermaus, and Cosi Fan Tutti. Along with Janae Mariant, Catherine co-directed and starred as Jane Watson in the independent film Shirley Holmes and Jane Watson: The Murder In The Park. She has been a regular performer at the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano, CA where she recorded an album of songs celebrating San Juan and its history, entitled “Back to Capistrano,” with songwriter and playwright Gary McCarver. She recently was lucky enough to see another country’s perspective of musical theatre while working on the brilliantly acclaimed production of Blood Brothers at the Q in Queanbeyan, Australia,...

SUSAN JEROME BIO
 
Susan has been a children's and adult theater and music teacher in the Bay Area for the past 20 years. She has had extensive training in singing, acting, improvisation, music, dance, directing and writing.  She has a BA in Theater Arts and attended "The American Academy of Dramatic Arts" in New York. Susan has been a leading show-singer, dancer, actress in New York, Minnesota and San Francisco and the Peninsula. She is also a professional  voice-over commercial artist and has been in many commercials and documentaries nationally. She is a member of SAG and AFTRA talent unions and has won many  awards for her talents. She has produced and directed several children's stage productions throughout her prestigious career.

About Me

I am a classically-trained opera singer. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (teaching), and have sung professionally in the U.S. and Europe. I have sung Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater and Concerts, as well as choral and cantorial singing. I have been a finalist and winner of vocal competitions in both the United States and Europe.
I have been teaching voice since 1980, and have worked with all ages of students. I have also directed and designed for musical theater and opera. Because I love singing, I want to bring that to my students as well, whatever kind of music they want to sing.

In addition to music, I also teach English (ESL), Accent Reduction, German, U.S. & World History. I have my CBEST Credential And ESL Certification. I do private tutoring and teach classes.

I am a fabulous teacher. Really! As a member of NATS (National Organization of Teachers of Singing), I hold my teaching skills to a high standard. No matter what kind music you like to sing, I can help you become more comfortable and have lots of fun! Maybe you want to experiment with pop, jazz or rock? Maybe you like current Broadway hits? Come visit me. Lets play with your favorites, and enjoy! My primary focus is classical, which is the foundation for all healthy singing.

I love singing. It fills my life with transcendent joy as nothing else. I thrive on performing. It feeds my soul to offer my gifts to my audience. I know that for a few hours I have transported them from their daily lives to another world just by using my voice and commitment to the text, and that brings me such pleasure. Stefaie August is a private music educator located in San Francisco, CA. She has been assisting students of all levels gain a mastery of voice, piano, music theory, and compostion for over 20 years. Her specialty is jazz, rock, blues and pop music.

Stefanie holds a bachelor of Music cum laude degree in jazz studies from the University of Bridgeport. She is also a highly accomplished vocalist and pianist who continues to perform whenever possible.

Stefanie looks forward to helping you acheive your goals as vocalist or musician.

Thank you for your interest in voice lessons! I am a singer who teaches and performs in and around San Francisco. I have a strong passion for teaching voice and sharing my knowledge of singing and the musical arts with others. I believe with the right instruction and determination anyone has the ability to sing!

I am a classically trained singer, which means my teaching will involve classical techniques. The techniques and skills I teach can be used for various singing genres such as musical theater, pop, rock, opera, jazz, blues and gospel singing. I believe voice lessons are fun, and also beneficial for improving music skills, expanding the range, developing vocal stamina and quality, and increasing confidence.
