Ryan B. Saint Louis, MO

I have been playing Piano since 2007. i have taken Piano classes 1-4 and private lessons for over two years. My Major influences are; Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles, Dr. John, Professor Longhair.

About Ryan

Hello, my name is Ryan B. I appreciate the responsibility, dedication and hard work that comes along with being a music teacher. To me nothing is more rewarding than the students improvement and their personal feelings of success.

Since I have learned how to play a variety of instruments over the course of several years, I have learned how to gather and utilize skills and techniques that I have learned from many great musicians. That means I can take these diverse skills and pass them on to my students! And I am very good at finding just what the student needs to expand their musical horizons.

Training:

-I have been playing a variety of musical instruments (examples are guitar, piano, trombone, saxophone, trumpet, flute, and many more) for seven years
-I am very familiar with ...

Enthusiasm that spreads! His excitement and passion for music truly inspired me.

Ryan is personable, eclectic and respectful. I met him while performing at a show with my old band. He had along his flute and saxophone. Excellent with any ability level and of all ages of students! He is well-versed in many different genres and on many different instruments, although he taught me saxophone. His enthusiasm and passion is contagious!

I started playing piano at age seven when my mother enrolled me in lessons. I have been playing ever since, and I absolutely love it. I began teaching private piano lessons in 2003, and have taught many thousands of lessons since that time. I have experience accompanying choirs, instrumentalists, and vocalists, as well as playing as a soloist in various piano competitions and recitals. I recently began taking lessons in jazz piano, a genre I never learned much about. I believe it is never too late to learn something new, and I am excited to start this new chapter of my musical life and to use this new knowledge to enhance my own teaching.

In my piano lessons I use the Faber's fabulous Piano Adventures series. In my opinion, they are the best books on the market, emphasizing reading by intervals as opposed to memorizing note names. This method minimizes student frustration while also decreasing the amount of time it takes a student to read a new song. Piano Adventures also focuses ...

About Angela

Hi! My name is Angela, and I teach private piano, voice, and theory lessons. I love teaching, and have taught many ages (3 to 93) and ability levels (novice to advanced). I am a dependable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic teacher. I offer lessons for 30, 45, or 60-minute weekly sessions in my home studio. I do not offer bi-weekly lessons or lessons in the student's home.

My home is a split-level, with my private living area above and my music studio below. There is a waiting area just outside the music studio, as well as a half-bath specifically designated for students and parents. The studio itself contains a piano and organ, my personal music library, and additional seating for parents. There is a full-length mirror for vocal students to watch their performance skills grow, and ...

Angela moves at a pretty good clip, which is fine with me. I appreciate that she is tailoring the lessons to suit my abilities, rather than a one-size-fits all approach. I feel like I am a part of making choices, when appropriate. At the same time, Angela is confident in respectfully voicing a different opinion, and explaining it. I'm also taking piano lessons with her and appreciate her finding occasions to combine voice and piano opportunities.

Performance opportunities, membership in performing clubs including annual recitals, various auditions and competitions.

National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals provide several venues for special needs, junior and adult pianist performances and competitions.

About Betty Jane

Began to study piano at age five in Chicago, IL. and began teaching at age fifteen under Dr. Ronald Combs in Round Lake, IL till age seventeen. Opened my studio here in St. Louis, MO in 1987, and teach beginners through advanced.
Classical Improvisation is one of my specialties. Successful Improv fundamentals are: Intervallic reading, knowledge of chords and freedom in playing fluidly in various styles. Music Theory is much easier than most people realize and is a must to learn to play well quickly , of course with practice!

I have taught some piano, enough to get a beginner started right! I teach the keys, proper technique, hannon exercises, sight reading, beginner etudes, and jazz comping.

About Stephen

I earned my bachelor's degree in music with emphasis in jazz performance in drums from Webster University in 2014.

Michael R. Saint Louis, MO

I follow the Faber Piano Adventure Series. Typically lessons are 30 minutes each. Scale/Arpeggios and technical study are vastly important and I explore these with students in about every lesson. The student also learns from the piece or study he or she is working on in the Faber Adventure Series. I tend to cover music theory and ear training during lessons as well.

Also am very open to student's ideas of his or her own piece they may want to learn; I call it a performance piece. This is something that is outside of the Faber Adventure Series.

About Michael

I follow the Faber Piano Adventure Series. I currently teach all ages, range from 6 years old to adult. I received my master's in piano performance from Webster University in the Spring of 2013 and now teach, accompany, and collaborate with musicians in the St. Louis area. I drive to homes for my private students. Along with private students, I also teach at the Language Immersion Schools in St. Louis during their after-school music program.

Olivia is a wonderful musician, but more importantly - she's a truly gifted teacher. She respects children, and she has the intuition to clue in to each one's interests and abilities. We engaged her for in-one lessons for a school year, and I saw her interact and heard the reports from 3 children: my 6th grade son and his friend and 4th grade sister. She taught my son on his small keyboard - not a piano - and the only reason we stopped was that she moved away. She made the theory interesting enough to hold his attention, taught him the basics of composing your own music, and gave him fun exercises to hold his attention. She organized and held a Christmas recital and reception for all her students. At the end of the school year his school class performed a musical, and she even took one of the numbers, adapted it to his level, and turned it into a duet he performed with his friend, another one of Olivia's students. He started the school year not knowing about middle C and ended the year with an understanding of basic musical theory, knowing how to play dozen beginner to intermediate songs, several chords, and 2 performances under his belt. I highly recommend her.

Olivia taught my son Piano for about 4 years when she was in Rochester. She is a lovely and patient young woman who is great with kids. I've seen my son grow from a beginner to a pretty decent pianist under her guidance. She was very flexible with our time and worked hard to fit our schedule. She would still be his teacher is she hadn't left, so our loss is your gain.
