About Me

It is a pleasure to meet you! You probably came here with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for you can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy; I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven, and I just reconnected with my first teacher again on Facebook, what a lovely world this is.

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves, working with music that delights and educates.

The best teacher offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's voice so that they can be free to create their own style.

*** Lesson Details ***
In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano learns how to create and write their own music in time, gets to choose their own pieces to work on, and has a say in their classical and performance goals.

We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills.

What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.

Learning the piano ought to be FUN. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I prefer not to travel.

*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

About Me

Starting out at the age of 4, Sarah instantly found a love for the stage. Coming from a family with a heavy background in the movie and theater industry, it was no surprise that Sarah herself eventually fell in love with the arts as well. Being a girl with a strong Sicilian heritage, she is a very passionate and independent person with a lot of ambitious goals in her life. She has made it a point to grow in as many ways as possible in her knowledge of theater and dance. Always wanting to direct a theater and dance studio of her own, Sarah has been driven since the day she dreamt about it. Working her way through her school years she has been involved in many dance and theater productions as well as being heavily involved at her dance studio “Hawkins School of Performing Arts”. She attended there for many years under the instruction of some of the best instructors. She also competed with Hawkins’ first hip-hop jazz performing troupe, where she traveled around the state competing, and winning, four 1st place titles. As she entered her first year at Folsom High School, she became more and more involved in drama class, shows, and showcase pieces. She has been involved in many productions such as “Once Upon a Mattress” (Featured Dancer), “Anything Goes”(Girl #3), “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”(FD), “Romeo and Juliet” (Apothecary/Montague Gang), and “Beauty and the Beast” (Choreographer/ The Rose soloist/ Enchanted Object/FD). Sarah was thrilled when she was asked to come on board as the Choreographer for Beauty and the Beast, as that show has been her favorite movie since she was a little girl and a musical known by everyone. Along with being involved in shows and dance, Sarah has been practicing Cosmetology for the Sacramento area for 7 years now. She has completed multiple seminars and worked on a few fashion shows. Her expertise ranges from platform beauty work to the best salon and spa services available. Sarah has studied under professional artists for a year doing work for them as well as training; including world renowned make-up artist Burke Daniels. She has worked as a stylist for many professional photography companies as well. Some of her creative techniques involve: Special Effects Make-Up, Platform Make-Up, High Fashion Make-Up, Highlight and Contouring, Photography Make-Up, Corrective Make-Up and Weave coloring/ Balyage.

“Beauty is something that people need to see and feel from the inside”

Sarah has also been involved with Video Production at Folsom High and was also asked by her producer to be a part of “The Tower of Youth Awards”, where she submitted a PSA for “Drunk Driving” and won 1st place in the Greater Sacramento Area. As her Senior Year came to an end she was selected by her Director of the Drama Department to be one of the four people to host Folsom High School’s 2006 Drama Awards. There she was honored with multiple awards such as Best Dance Scene, Most Inspirational Senior, Most Encouraging Person, Best Duet, Best Original One Act Musical, Best Kiss, and Best Choreographer. After Graduation she attended Sierra and Folsom Lake College for a year. When the year was up she decided to open up a theater program through Folsom Parks and Recreation. There she taught for 3 years putting on shows such as “The Little Mermaid”, “Troy: The Other Story”, and a few showcases. Along with her teaching, she herself was cast in California State University of Sacramento’s one act “Fuddy Meers”, where she played the villainous cop “Heidi.” Kids have always been a huge love to Sarah her whole life, so it has been nothing but a blessing to be able to teach them all of what she has been taught and knows. Sarah loves her husband and family more than anything in the entire world and would like to thank them for all of their support, involvement, and help they have given continuously every single day of her life.
