I am originally from Seoul, South Korea, where I studied music specializing in piano performance at the Korea Art University. I’ve been teaching classical piano for more than 20 years. I taught more of classical music than contemporary music. I taught children piano and theory at various music institutes for many years and also taught individually. I was also a pianist for many years accompanying choirs at various churches.
Early on my teaching style was very traditional, ie. book-oriented and expecting perfection from all my students, but after I had my first child, I started studying Early Childhood Education and learned how important each child’s uniqueness is. I strongly believe that it is important to focus on an individual’s abilities and bring them up to their full potential. So in place of my traditional teaching style, there now is a teaching style that is fun, caring, loving, and creative.

Classically trained with years of performance and practical experience. I know how to help you make the music that you want to make. I am well-versed in nearly all music styles from classical to contemporary/pop. I am currently active in both piano accompaniment, vocal performance with the Pacific Chorale, and directing a very active north orange county community choir.

I recently completed my music credential and have graduate degrees in Education and Music.

I am especially gifted in teaching beginning piano, fundamental vocal production and dramatic presentation.

When I was 2 years old I saw my uncle play the drums in a band at a family gathering. For some reason which I can't explain, I ignored all of the other instruments on stage and became fixated on the drum set! When the show was over I went over to my uncle's side to take a closer look. Then I was hoisted up into his lap where I was allowed, for the first time, to play the drums myself. Ever since that day all I could think of was having a kit of my own.
Finally, at the age of 7 I got what I had wanted for five long years. It was a toy-sized, royal blue DRUMSET! At first I played whatever rhythms I could come up with or whatever beats my father could show me. But eventually my parents forced me into taking some lessons. "You're not just going to bang on them all day," my father told me, "you're going to learn to really play." I am a young (27), and energetic lover of music. I want to instill that love in any student that I teach so that a long-term skill can be developed and cherished. Lessons with me can help in a variety of ways: improve your piano skills in general; grow in your appreciation for music, especially Jazz; learn chord theory and how to read lead sheets; learn how to write a good tune that can get noticed.
I have a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies from Brigham Young University where I had the chance to work with renowned musicians such as Cannonball Saxophone sponsored artist Ray Smith, BMI Jazz composer's workshop member Steve Lindeman, and first-call drummer Jay Lawrence. I am currently studying with Grammy award-winning composer, arranger, and Jazz pianist Bill Cunliffe at Cal State Fullerton as part of my Masters of Music degree in Jazz Performance. I have been teaching piano lessons for over 7 years now, and also have been working as a freelance musician.

Hi future rock guitar players. My name is Gino and I have been playing guitar since I was 16 years old. I'm 28 now and still playing with no end in sight. Out of all the genres of music my favorite has been Rock and Roll. I love it to death. I can remember learning songs by some of my favorite bands such as Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Nirvana, Oasis, Black Sabbath, Ac/Dc, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, Motorhead, etc and the joy I got that a song that I once thought I could not learn I did. Yet like all things in life it took time and dedication, and that is all I ask for from my students. I just finished receiving my Bachelors degree in music at Whittier College and also have an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts at Fullerton JR. College. I believe that if you want something, you have to go for it. I encourage my students to pursue their passions with music and reach as far as they dare imagine. I act as a resource and a guide, helping my students to find their way to their music goals.

My journey with music began in 2004. I started playing guitar and piano while attending College of the Desert. The guitar led me to take several music classes, including guitar ensemble and piano. I soon transferred to Cal Poly Pomona to pursue a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2005. While attending Cal Poly, I declared a Double Major in Music Performance (Guitar Emphasis) since I enjoyed it so much. I began studying guitar under Dr.Yates (UCLA) and Dr. Gravelle (UCLA). They both inspired me to take the instrument seriously. During my 6 quarters of Private/Studio lessons with Dr. Gravelle, I began learning challenging pieces of different genres (jazz, classical, and bossa nova). I have over twenty years of performance experience as a drummer. I have an AA degree in Music from Pasadena City College. I have a BA in Music from California State University, Northridge. I have taught individual and group instruction, focusing on hand technique and sight-reading. I attended Grove School of Music in 1990, where I studied hand and sticking technique and Latin drum-set application. I have performed in a variety of musical situations from big band performances to musicals, jazz trios, rock shows, and an independent film score.

I began studying guitar as a teenager and began teaching at a music store just after graduating from high school.While in my twenties I taught myself steel guitar, banjo and mandolin. Most of my education has been practical: thousands (in the low thousands, but still thousands) of live performances, recording sessions and private and group lessons.

I don`t think there are any short cuts to learning an instrument (and I`ve been around long enough to see plenty of "master guitar in x number of days" gimmicks come and go) but a good teacher can help a student set realistic goals and meet them in a minimum amount of time.

My name is Alice B. I've been playing piano for a total of 20 years and have been singing since before I can remember! I was Classically trained in piano from the age of six to eighteen and had the privilege to compete in various regional competitions throughout Southern California and perform in a number of recitals during that time. I studied voice for 3 years from the age of seventeen to twenty-one in both Classical and Contemporary/Jazz music. I had the amazing experience, 5 years ago, to record a 3-song demo and will hopefully get another opportunity to record again. I currently perform weekly at my church and music is my passion!!! Music to me, is a beautiful oxymoron - both intricate and simple! Intricate in its technicality...Simple in the emotional imprint it leaves behind!! As a teacher, my goal is to convey these elements and teach my students the importance of discipline, patience, determination, and hopefully open their eyes to the wonderful world of MUSIC!!

I grew up in Quebec City Canada, where I only spoke French during those growing years. From a very young age, I was always attracted to music and particularly playing drums. My mom has told me that before I could even walk, I was already banging away on whatever I could put my hands on. I would sit down with pots, pans, and spoons and bang away. My parents bought my first “real” drum kit when I was about five years old. It was a Mickey Mouse drum set that they ordered from the Sears catalog. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, because of the poor quality of the drum, this particular kit only lasted a couple months, but it was on that very drum kit that I gave my first live performance. The concert took place in the basement of my house. This memorable concert included one song, a French version of California dreaming, with me on drums, my brother on guitar and my sister as a singer. The crowd (one uncle and our mom) loved it and saw the potential in what could be a career someday!...
