I am a music educator, performer, and student. At the young at of 27 I've has gained many in-depth experiences in the multiple areas of our musical world. I've taken lessons with some of my idols, played venues I had only dreamed of as child, and I am currently managing and performing with my own group MoPhat. With 15 years of experience in playing various musical genres (Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk, and R&B), l am well prepared to teach aspiring guitarists of all ages and levels.

Guitar studies have been an effective catalyst for learning responsibility, how to communicate clearly, and how to work effectively both in groups and solo. I moved from Minnesota to attend the New School Jazz Program, and graduated summa cum laude in 2005. I then attended Brooklyn College to become a NYS certified music teacher, and taught in middle and high schools for 5 years before embarking on my freelance career. During college and my teaching years, I taught private students from age 5 - 85, all sharing one thing - a love for music!

I have been both a performer and dedicated teacher in the NYC and NJ area for over 14 years. I began playing music at the age of 8 years old, studying classical piano until I was 13. From there, I picked up guitar and started to immerse myself with rock, folk, classical, and jazz music. I eventually attended William Patterson University where I earned a BA in Jazz Performance, and then decided to move to NYC and pursue my career as a performer and educator. Upon moving to the city, I attended the American Institute of Guitar where I studied classical guitar for 5 years with world renowned guitarist Yasha Koffman.

Currently, I am teaching and performing in the greater NJ and NYC areas, and has performed with notable figures such as Steve LaSpina, James Williams, Tyshawn Sorey, and Yasha Koffman.

I have a background in classical, jazz and popular music. I have played flute for over 20 years in every context, from orchestra to marching band to CBGB. I have performed with vocal ensembles of every size and in every style.

Greetings! My name is Christina and I am a recent Rutgers University graduate with a double major in both music and economics. I have had over 12 years of private training in piano, with additional experience in violin, orchestra, choir and various performance-related events. Over the years I have studied with numerous pianists and incorporated many different methods and techniques that have greatly influenced my own teaching. I have been teaching music lessons to both children and adults since high school, and am comfortable teaching any age. I do believe that a solid foundation in any instrument begins with music theory, and it is something I incorporate little by little into each lesson; however, it is very important to me that the learning process be enjoyable, and I strive to make each lesson as fun, inspiring, and exciting as possible!

Brian has been performing for over 10 years. He is experienced in genres from hip-hop to classic rock, and delivers a style all his own. He is an honors graduate of Berklee College of Music with a dual degree in Music Production and Engineering and Music Business Management. Prior to Berklee, Brian was classically trained as a vocalist by Georgia Marandino. He fine-tuned his skills at Berklee with Joey Blake (performs with Bobby McFerrin). Brian learned guitar and piano from his father a semi-pro guitarist and an educator of educators. As a producer and sound engineer, Brian has worked with musicians spanning different genres and cultures including Grammy Award winning sound engineer Hector Ivan Rosa (Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, El Gran Combo). He currently offers voice, piano, guitar, and music theory lessons to students of all abilities.

I started playing guitar at age 11, taking lessons at the local music studio in Hackensack, NJ. I became heavily influenced by The Beatles after hearing their music and as a teenager played in local rock groups, having some success being in the bands Jona's Ark and The Yorkshire Pudding, opening for artists Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, John Mayall and backing up Gary U.S. Bonds. I started playing piano at 19 when I took a group piano class in college. I attended Berklee College of Music and studied guitar with Bill Leavitt and Pat Metheny. I've made my career as a performing musician and teacher for many years. I've enjoyed touring the Northeast U.S. and also the U.K. What fun it's been meeting different people and experiencing their love of music! My band specializes in rock, blues, and originals, too. There's even a little jazz influence, coming from my years of private study, most recently with Ms. Leni Stern, an extraordinary professor of music at NYU.
