I love music and I love teaching! I started out with a passion for musical theater, and eventually I developed a love for opera and art songs. I love how singing requires both physical awareness and mental focus, and I will strive to teach the balance of these aspects. Whether you want to gear up for karaoke or learn how to sing an Italian aria, I can offer you advice and training to help you meet your goals.

I've had a great deal of experience reaching out to students of all ages. I taught undergraduates while finishing my masters degree in Chicago, and while performing outreach with the San Diego Opera and Anchorage Opera. Outside of music, I love competing in triathlons!

I am a University of Hawaii Piano Performance Major with a training emphasis in classical piano. I have taken multiple AMEB piano examinations, as well as performed in various recitals, culminating in an undergraduate music certification. I have been playing for 15 years, working with a variety of musical and performance styles, including individual performance, accompaniment, and musical collaboration. These experiences have given me the skills to tackle and communicate musical themes and ideas to students with a range of learning styles and needs, from beginning to advanced, classical to leisure.

I am a composer, arranger, and producer with a continual appreciation for music and the arts. I embarked on my musical journey at a young age, receiving instruction in basic piano, moving on to study classical piano, and then learning jazz piano. I began writing solo compositions for piano as an early teen, and quickly thereafter learned how to use recording equipment. I also learned to play the saxophone as a child, playing in various elementary and high-school school bands. Often would my father, brother and I perform events held at our church as a saxophone trio, playing standard jazz pieces from the 1950s and '60s. While studying at Goucher College, I learned music theory, music history, and arranged several of my own pieces and a few original arrangements for the Jazz Ensemble. Soprano Belinda L. is quickly emerging as a sought-after performer both in opera and as a recitalist. Her performances have been described as “mesmerizing” and her crystal clear voice is full of a “beauty and sensitivity that makes her an immediate stand out.” Most recently, Belinda has appeared on the stage of Peabody Opera as Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo. Past roles include leads from Cosi fan tutte (2010), Die Zauberflöte (2010), Rigoletto (2010), Gilbert &Sullivan's Trial by Jury (2009), Lakme (2009), Le nozze di Figaro (2009), and Don Giovanni (2008). Equally in demand on the concert stage, Belinda has sung the soprano solos in Faure's Requiem and Handel's Messiah.

Prior to her studies at the Peabody Institute, Belinda attended the University of California, Irvine, studying voice under the tutelage of Dr. Darryl Taylor. Music and teaching music have been my passions for as long as I can remember! Throughout my career as a student, I have explored many musical paths and instruments. All these experiences contributed to making me the well-rounded and intelligent musician I am today.

My undergraduate degree is from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in Music education where I am certified to teach any music from students K-12. Currently, I am pursuing a masters degree in Vocal Performance and Opera from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University where I study under Phyllis Bryn-Julson.

Although singing is my #1 passion, I encourage students to play instruments and explore other musical outlets. Musical instruments I've learned and performed with include: piano, french horn, mallet percussion, classical guitar, and saxophone. Music has so much to offer - take advantage of it now!

I have studied with Wanchi Huang at James Madison University for six years. At JMU, I earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, both in violin performance. I am currently working on a doctoral degree at Catholic University of America, studying with Jody Gatwood. When I was a student at JMU, I taught several students privately. The students ranged from retirees to JMU faculty and students to adolescents. I am now teaching at Baltimore Talent Education Center, where I teach violin in small groups and individual lessons. I have been playing guitar for around 28 years, I have performed in many states and continue to do so. Playing live is a very special part of playing music, I have also recorded in the studio - it's always great to put your music onto a cd or help a fellow musician out and record when they need someone else to listen. Plus you always have your recording to listen to for a long time. My background comes from learning from a nationally known professional musician who has been performing for over 30 years on world tours & recorded on 10 different albums. I also have studied in different music workshops in the U.S with world renown pro guitarists.

David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Baltimore, MD. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 16 years he has been performing (11 of those professionally) and playing guitar, he has released 4 CDs and written over 200 original songs. I have been playing guitar for almost 20 years. I was blessed to have a great instructor who motivated me and provided me with a great foundation to build upon. I would like to be able to pay it forward and do the same for you. I studied music theory and music appreciation at UMBC, and I received certifications in audio production and recording techniques from the Omega Studios School of Recording Arts and Sciences. Along the way, I have learned how to play bass, piano, drums and percussion, mandolin, xylophone, and sing.
