My commitments as a teacher are to have my students play with solid technique, natural and healthy posture, relaxed and tensionless movements, and with musical integrity. Lessons are split into three parts: scales, etudes, and solo repertoire. For my very youngest students I teach rhythms, note names, and reading music through games and songs.
My continuous goals as a teacher are to constantly be striving to understand how each child learns best and to foster a lifetime love for both the violin and classical music. I teach each student as an individual and tailor lessons to their unique goals and weekly progress on the instrument. I also teach my students to become skilled sight-readers.
Serious students only. I expect my beginners to practice 15 minutes every day. I teach beginners to very experienced students, ages 5-Adult.
Please contact TakeLessons to hear more about my teaching philosophy!

I teach students how to read music and rhythms with quick effectiveness! This enables students to be independent during their weekly practicing and supplements their weekly progress.
I've been a professional violinist for 15 years with over 15 years of teaching experience. The students that I teach are of every age and my goal is to teach each student a curriculum that is tailored specifically to their needs and abilities. I create lessons and a learning environment that allows students to meet their musical aspirations, whether it be professional learning or amateur pleasure.
I have been studying violin, including jazz, classical, and fiddle styles, with some of the most respected teachers in the world for 26 years. I've attended some of the best accredited conservatories including the Manhattan School of Music's Preparatory division and Eastman School of Music. Currently, when I'm not teaching, I perform with the Tri-Cities opera and Binghamton Symphony.

I'm a classical violinist, a loving single mother, and a independent business owner for life, health and accident insurance through AFLAC from New York. I am a very accomplished musician performing in many venues and events such as the Long Island String Festival, NYC All County Music Festivals, Valley stream District 13 Music Festival, NY All State Concert, NYSMMA Music competitions, and yes even Carnegie Hall with the NY Metropolitan Youth Principle Orchestra 1st Violin. Ive learned that nothing of value in life comes without blood sweat and tears but it is worth it.
The things I love most in life are my son and providing for our family. On week days, you'll usually find me prospecting potential clients to help with their benefits for employees in any type of weather, for my independent business through AFLAC. On the weekends I like to take my son with my dogs (sometimes) to the park, museums, and church or teach him the various wonders of life.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
