Soprano Yunjin Audrey K. recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from James MadisonUniversity. After winning the Concerto Competition at the Eastman School of Music, Ms. K. was featured as a soloist with the Eastman Philharmonia Orchestra for the performance of Messiaen’s “Poémes pour Mi” in the spring of 2012. Additionally, during her undergraduate study she was awarded the Frazier Soprano Scholarship and won the university’s Concerto Competition. She has also taken first prize and received scholarships in other competitions including the Mu Phi International Fraternity Competition and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). John is an Organist, Harpsichordist, and Pianist completing a Master's degree at the Eastman School of Music in the organ studio of William Porter. He graduated from Eastman with a Bachelor of Music in Organ and Historical Keyboards in 2011 as a student of David Higgs. At Eastman, he has also studied the pedal clavichord and piano technique with Ulrika Davidsson.

As an instructor, John firmly believes that private, one on one music instruction should be tailored to each individual student. His pedagogical approach is different for each student. Everyone learns differently. There is just not one way to learn to play an instrument. At the first lesson there will be a discussion on the students goals and interests and different methods of teaching will be discussed with the student (and parents) to decide what the best step forward will be.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Literature as a Graduate Award recipient and Teaching Assistant at the Eastman School of Music, where I completed my undergraduate degree with Distinction.

It may sound cheesy but I believe music is the soul of life. It is everything to me. I've studied piano since I was about 5 years old and began singing since about 10. I received my Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music majoring in Vocal Performance and Literature. I've made appearances with the Eastman Opera Theater performing as the Principal Comedian in The Bartered Bride, and as a solo tenor in two contemporary performances titled The Juliet Letters and Genius Child. In the summer of 2011, I had the opportunity to work in Italy with renowned performers and coaches in the music and language program “Si parla, si canta”. There I studied and performed scenes from Mozart’s Idomeneo, Verdi’s Traviata, and Gluck’s Paride ed Helena. I have also performed the role of El Dancaïro in Oswego Opera’s Carmen. In the fall of 2011, I was one of only eight vocalists chosen to compete in the finals of the Friends of Eastman Opera (FEO) Voice Competition.

I have been a lifelong music student, learning piano from a young age and moving on to french horn, voice, guitar, mandolin, and percussion. As a piano teacher with five years of teaching experience for beginner to intermediate students I chose to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Music followed by a Masters degree in Music Therapy. I enjoy helping people of all ages and levels of skill follow their dream to learn a musical instrument. In my free time I learn to sing and play my favorite songs on guitar and improvise and write music with my friends.

I have a master's degree in musical education. My main instrument is guitar, and I have played in rock groups, studied classical guitar with a student of Pepe Romero, and am a solid blues player. Receiving my NYS teaching certificate has allowed me to teach band and lessons in public and private schools for the last twelve years. I have taught most band instruments in these settings, as well as a beginning guitar class and a guitar ensemble. In my younger years, and while in college studying music, I have developed great piano skills as well.
