Acting, Film Acting, Improv Acting
-Graduated Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from Azusa Pacific University
-I am a currently working actress with film/TV credits that include Alloy Entertainment, Lifetime Television, and HGTV. Being a working actress informs my coaching on what is needed in this current market.
-A teacher/coach since 2011, I am currently contracted with two different acting studios. I teach have experience teaching full classes, as well as one-on-one instruction.
-Even though my lessons are based in the acting style that is necessary for film and television, my background is in theatre. The acting "greats" such as Stanislavki, Uta Hagen, and Meisner inform a great deal of my approach in acting.
-Structure of my lessons:
*Start the lesson with an appropriate warm-up
*Introduce a new acting concept
*The "Audition" -- Give the student a new script/assignment in which to try out the new concept. I tape the student and critique. We watch the tape, and go over what the student will need to work on for next time.
And, for the second week...
*All of the steps are the same from week 1, with one exception -- I like to use the same script, and give the feel of a "callback." The student will have worked and prepared the material from week 1, and should bring it back in order to work as if they were farther in the audition process.
* * *
I am a creative, fun, and experienced teacher. I can help beginners get started with necessary tools for this industry, or I can offer continued training for those who need a mock audition workout.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
