I have been playing guitar since I was 14 and I have not looked back since. I love music and I love helping other people discover the joys it can bring. In college I studied classical guitar and got experience playing in many different groups. I currently perform in and around the Seattle area.

Music has always been my core focus in life and I enjoy helping students of all ages reach their musical goals! I love music of all kinds and am proficient in classical, jazz, soul, pop, rock, punk, hip-hop, latin, and more; as well as picking up influences from the various places I've lived- New Jersey, Hawaii, and Seattle.

I grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and began studying basic music at the age of 5. I started classical guitar lessons at the age of 10 and was fortunate to learn from Alice Artzt who is a renowned American concert guitarist and teacher. I've also studied classical voice since I was 8 and toured with The Princeton Girlchoir. Later, I attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and received a bachelors in music in 2006. Currently, I write and perform original music in the Seattle area.

Jakob has been teaching students of all ages for over a decade. He strives to motivate and inspire his students to become great musicians. Jakob’s teaching method is fun and easy to understand. His students learn proper technique, music theory, how to read music, play in a band, play their favorite songs, and how to practice efficiently to improve on their instrument in a shorter amount of time.
