Kevin is a fantastic instructor!

I have been taking private lessons from Kevin for two years now as we'll as receiving instruction in Band for the last three years. Kevin not only is an incredible percussionist himself, but he has a knack for being able to convey ideas to students that they can understand. New and better approaches to teaching rhythm, personalized lesson planning to suit a student's needs, and a vast knowledge of music from years of professional experience are just a few things that Kevin brings to the table. If you're looking for a percussion instructor, I would highly recommend Kevin as your first choice!

Vocal lessons with Tom

Tom is a great teacher. He is very encouraging and gives great advice on how to improve. Without his encouragement I do not think I would have tried out for the community choir. I made it through the audition and am back singing with a great group of people.

About Cynthia

The early whisperings of the flute started when I was 9 years old. The first time I saw a flute, I immediately became enchanted with the instrument, which ignited a passion in my heart for playing. At the age of 13, I attended the Riverbend Institute of the Arts in Faribault, Minnesota. The encouragement I received there plunged me into a life filled with music. Shortly after, I was selected to play in the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony (GTCYS) for two years. This was an incredible experience as a young person, especially playing at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. I grew up in a nurturing community that opened up many creative opportunities and experiences and for that I am grateful. I am also thankful for all of the highly influential flute teachers that instilled skills and ...

Piper B. River Falls, WI

About Piper

I have been tutoring high school to college aged students in flute technique and performance for 2 years. I specialize in teaching modern techniques and tone practice and working with students to develop their own personal styles with their instruments. I also strive to enhance my students' learning with music theory and history to help them better understand the beauty and spirit of music. I have been tutoring Music Theory and Composition Techniques for beginning composers for about a year now, and love helping my students figure out their own personal writing styles and teaching them to love Music Theory, rather than fearing it. I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls working toward a Bachelor of Science/Music, specializing in flute performance
