I began music in Winona, MN at age 9 with a pair of drumsticks and went on to become a world champion in 2003 with the Blue Stars drum and bugle corps. I do all things percussion and have been playing for 20 years but these days I do a lot more than just drums.
My time spent studying Music Education at the University of North Texas expanded my musical horizons adding piano and guitar among other tools of the trade. The majority of my students these days are piano students young and old but I love teaching a variety of lessons including guitar and ukelele.

The early whisperings of the flute started when I was 9 years old. The first time I saw a flute, I immediately became enchanted with the instrument, which ignited a passion in my heart for playing. At the age of 13, I attended the Riverbend Institute of the Arts in Faribault, Minnesota. The encouragement I received there plunged me into a life filled with music. This was an incredible experience as a young person, especially playing at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
I grew up in a nurturing community that opened up many creative opportunities and experiences and for that I am grateful. I am also thankful for all of the highly influential flute teachers that instilled skills and ...
