I was introduced to music at a young age and haven't stopped playing. I love to have fun when I play, but I love sharing my passion and joy even more!

I feel that my experience as a teacher has helped me grow to build relationships with my students. I don't treat lessons like Juilliard studies. I have fun with my students. Music can be a serious study, but it is also one of the most fun and rewarding. My goal is to build a good relationship with my student so that I can work with them, rather than against them, to achieve the same goal. Making music is fun, but developing a passion for it gives it the life that nothing else can.

I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Sacramento area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento. During my time here in Sacramento I have held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I'm currently the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra and lead trombone for the Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. I am even featured as the bass singer in Selfless Cold and Composed on the Ben Folds' College a cappella album released in 2009. As well, I have been given the great opportunity to play in several professional drum lines (most notably that of the San Francisco 49ers "Niner Noise" and Golden State Warriors aftershock". Gaw is a voice artist, music teacher, and arranger local to the Sacramento area, specializing in styles such as Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Classical. She began her music experience with the baritone at age 12, and eventually learned to play the violin, trumpet, French horn, piano, and percussion. She received her B.M. in Vocal Jazz Performance from California State University of Sacramento which she studied under world-class jazz artists Julia Dollison and Kerry Marsh.

Gaw sings locally in various Sacramento venues, such as Shady Lady, JB lounge and Capital Garage. She won multiple Downbeat Awards with vocal jazz ensembles at Sacramento State. She performed with Schola Cantorum under the direction of Don Kendricks. Gaw played brass with the championship level drum and bugle corps, Mandarins and Blue Devils A. With a bachelors degree in music from California State University Sacramento I studied with the best, including graduates from Juilliard and Eastman. I focus on what my students want to play and provide a harmonic grounding to enable the student to improvise or just "jam" with anybody. I also provide a positive reinforcement atmosphere and will accept ground floor beginners to advanced intermediate students.

My name is Sean W. and I've been a multi instrumentalist for 23 years! I've performed opera as a soprano, Rock, funk, punk, metal, and Jazz on guitar, bass, and drum-kit. I find being able to accompany my students on other instruments to be an indispensable tool.

I my elementary years I attended a music school. There I performed "classical styles" as a solo soprano and classical pianist. I'm Esther, a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself piano and singing in a choir at the age of 9. I moved to the U.S. in 1992 and studied music for 10 years receiving my B.M. & M.A. in music at California State University of Sacramento. I studied and trained with Claudia Kitka & Jackie Victorino for voice and Kirsten Smith, Joan McDe, & Angel Mamn for piano. I have performed many solo concerts in the U.S. as well as South Korea.

I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone.

John was born and raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began playing the guitar and composing music at the age of twelve. From 2002 to 2004, John attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he studied classical guitar performance and became the guitarist for the University Jazz Ensemble. John transferred to Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2004. At Berklee, he performed in guitar quartets and quintets and majored in Composition. He will receive his Bachelor's Degree in May of 2011.

I have been teaching music both in a k-8 public and charter school setting for 7 years and my private studio was started over 10 years ago. I am most passionate about helping my students discover their passion and working with their own interests to foster their abilities. That means I work with all styles of music. From Chopin to Led Zeppelin to Selena Gomez. I cater each lesson to the specific and unique needs and interests of my students. Music is Fun! I use my tools and experiences to help students reach their own goals, whether that be to perform professionally, to sing with their friends, compose their own music, etc...That means that some students will be very serious about their improvement and others will be somewhat casual, though all will be learning at the speed and temperament they like most. It is a pleasure to meet you! A little introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy; I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven, and I just reconnected with my first teacher again on Facebook, what a lovely world this is.

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves, working with music that delights and educates.

I have just added Sundays to the schedule. I've been teaching guitar for a couple of decades already and enjoyed every minute of it! I have played in a lot of different kinds of bands from country to rock around the state, and even had a few gigs as a bass player for the ARC jazz band including opening for Henry Robinette. I recorded a song I wrote with the world-class fiddle player Scott Joss, and several other songs i wrote received airplay on various stations around the state including 98Rock. We can learn to read music if you like, or start right in learning the techniques needed to play your favorite songs. I am a graduate of Musicians Institute and specialize in teaching improvision skills; also I am a father and specialize in patience.

I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have always enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events.
