My large sunlit studio and teaching style are designed to make you or your child comfortable and lessons are designed to be supportive and helpful.

Through a wide variety of activities, I will provide you with the instruction and positive feedback you need to master the skills necessary for singing or playing the cello. You will also learn basic musicianship skills. From the beginning, I help you integrate your technical skills to create music.

Learning requires repeated rehearsal. During our lessons I will help you develop skills useful for assessing your at-home progress and giving yourself positive feedback. This will minimize your frustration by leading to immediate improvement.

I believe that every person has the ability to enjoy the profound experience of expressing themselves through music and I would take great joy in helping you learn the art of musical performance.

Being continuously committed to enhancing my education, my ambition is to be teaching at a Steiner school while completing my full Waldorf certification. En route to that goal, this coming May 2013 I’ll have completed my full time Foundation in Anthroposophy program from Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California.

I also have earned a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from Kindergarten through ninth grade, as well as state Classroom Teacher certification.

I can teach you the steps needed for you to reach your goals with music. It's not always easy, especially in the beginning, but every time it gets more and more fun and more and more complex. It's almost like the math term "pie" 3.14... never ending.

Steve began his musical journey on the piano as a child, later moving on to explore
clarinet and trumpet in band before discovering the French horn in high school.
Though he earned his bachelor of music in horn performance at CSU, Sacramento, he never gave
up the piano, teaching students and accompanying choirs throughout college, and
earning scholarships for both instruments.

Steve has played for a number of musical groups, from orchestras, chamber
groups and community bands to being a pit musician in musical theater and
opera. This year, he will be joining the William Jessup University Wind
Ensemble and playing horn in that group. For the last several years, Steve has
directed the orchestra at his church, and has also arranged hymns and worship music
for church orchestras and smaller ensembles.

Besides teaching piano and horn, Steve's musical interests include music theory, arranging, composition, piano ensemble playing and ethnomusicology.

I like to try to simplify things as much as possible. I go by Jon, and I have been tuned into music since sixth grade. I hopped around from instrument to instrument until finally settling on the trombone. Having had that experience, I was able to become a reasonably good trombonist in a fairly short amount of time. College proved to me that there isn't anything else I'd rather be doing than playing my instrument. I am currently still in school, however, I gig with local bands when the economy demands it. I have received a variety of performance-based scholarships, which have allowed me to continue my musical education and hopefully help you with yours too. I am currently a year away from my AA in Jazz Studies from American River Community College, but my hope is not that you think of me as a qualified degree keeper, but rather a qualified musician whose passion towards music is as contagious as smiles are with laughter. I'm Lilli, I'm very passionate about music! I have been playing piano for roughly 18 years. I am classically trained but also enjoy jazz, rock, and contemporary as well. I can read music but also stress the importance of a great ear! I am very flexible with the student and his or her taste in music. I have studied music theory for two years, and have been teaching for roughly 3 years.

I have been performing since the age of three. At the age of seven, I began classical vocal lessons. At 8, I wrote the school song for Cherry Creek Elementary School in Marquette, Michigan. When I was 10, I entered and won the Grand Supreme title at my first pageant. When I was 13, I moved my vocal training at the local University becoming the youngest classical vocal student. After years of participating in musical theatre productions, I landed a job in a guitar shop that lead to a big shift in my musical interests. I left my small town, the theatre and my classical background behind and began fronting both Country and Rock bands, even singing along side Juice Newton, The Oak Ridge Boys, Glen Campbell, Sugarland, and Trick Pony on stage at the Porterfield Country Music Festival in 2005, which has in years past drawn nationally known country music artists such as Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, and Loretta Lynn. With more than 20 years of teaching experience for the cello, I have taught students of all ages, throughout California and overseas. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Cello Performance and am currently the Principal cellist for the Camellia Symphony, California. In addition, I am teaching all levels of cello and beginner violin lessons to my students in Folsom, Napa and Sacramento.

My professional performing experience began in Medellin, Colombia in 1985 with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra where I was their Soloist beginning in 1992 and later on, as First Cello, from 1998-2002.

While in Colombia, I also performed with the Antioquia Symphonic Orchestra and the Antioquia Chamber Orchestra from 1991-1999.

Music has always played a big part in my life since the third grade when I joined an after-school program for a recorder choir. I decided to start learning the violin a couple years later but never imagined as a child that it would lead me to keep pursuing a college degree in music. It was at the start of college where I realized the power of the music of Bach Beethoven, Wagner, Prokofiev - just to list a few names. Music gives a voice to emotions and colors, leaving a unique opportunity of interpretation to the discretion of the artist. Hello there students/parents!

A little about myself - I was born and raised in the East Bay area here in CA. I moved to Sacramento three years ago to attend Sacramento State University where I recently graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. I am currently attending Liberty University to earn my MBA in Public Administration and hope to one day work as a legislator at the State Capitol. I love to spend a lot of my spare time reading and I am a big Harry Potter fanatic! I also like to spend time playing my violin and learning new pieces of music.

I've played flute since the day I fell in love with it. When I was a little girl I saw the flute for the first time and wanted to play it ever since. I had a rough start in learning how to play the flute but over the past 13 years I've developed enough skill to be an advanced musician.

When I first started I had private tutors to teach me how to play. Then I played in elementary, middle, and high school concert band. At Sacramento State, I've performed with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Concert Band, and Symphony Orchestra.

I'm currently an undergraduate student at Sacramento State majoring in Music Education & Performance in flute. This is my fourth year and I've already learned much about many instruments other than the flute. I've learned to play piano, trumpet, violin, cello, and most of the other instrument families. The cello was especially fun to learn because I love the deep rich sound it creates.
