I began teaching guitar and bass in 2003 as a college student. I have played and recorded with many bands in the Providence/ Southeastern Massachusetts area including The Third Party, Jon the Cartoon Whale and Natural Progression.

I specialize in jazz ,fusion, funk and rock. I encourage students to analyze the music they listen to and incorporate what they learn into their own playing. I teach sight reading, rhythm training, music theory, chord vocabulary, ear training, songwriting and improvisation.

I am a guitarist from Mansfield, MA who grew up in a completely non-musical household, and, for one reason or another, always had an affinity for music. After failing monumentally at piano lessons in the second grade, it took several years before I made the decision to pick up a guitar for the first time. As it turned out, learning the instrument was the best possible thing that could have happened to me, and it became an important asset in almost every activity in which I participated. My hard work ultimately paid off, and by the time I graduated high school, it was clear to me that I had made the right choice in seeking to pursue music as a career.
Now in my final semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma, I have had countless opportunities to be active in all areas of my trade. I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have a wide-ranging experience in the music world, playing a variety of styles and a variety of orchestrations. In 2007 i was lucky enough to join Wynton Marsalis at Avery Fischer Hall in New York. Two years later, I had the honor of playing drums behind Dave Brubeck and saxophonist Grace Kelly at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I strive to not only assist musicians in expanding their technique and vocabulary, but also to encourage musicians in accessing their creativity and spirituality. Music is an incredible tool through which we can achieve amazing things, and through the practices of improvisation, ear training, and musical internalization, we can achieve so much more.

I discovered my true passion when I started playing guitar at age 13. Ever since then, I've branched out to other types of guitars (Acoustic, Electric, Sitar, Banjo, Ukulele) as well as many different genres (Rock, Blues, Hip/Hop, Metal, Classical, Reggae, Progressive, Ambient, Folk, Experimental, Punk, etc.). The importance of songwriting, melody crafting, harmonic arrangement, and lyrics came to me when I discovered the true talent of groups like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, Simon & Garfunkel, and Pink Floyd. I taught myself how to sing and how to play the piano about 6 years ago.

On May 2012, I graduated from UMass Amherst with a Bachelors in Marketing/Psychology. I decided not to attend college for Music because I wanted to learn more, musically, on my own...

Hi, I'm Jackson. I have been playing guitar for about 8 years and I have been a student in the UMass Lowell music program for two years (and counting). I have also done a large amount of solo and group performing, arranging, and composition. What I offer students is patience, a willingness to conform to your needs, and great enthusiasm and passion for the guitar and music theory. With my ear training experience I can pick up songs by ear and help you learn them, just ask! I very much look forward to passing my passion and knowledge for music on to you.

I've been playing the guitar for twenty-six years now, and I've been working as a guitar teacher for the last twenty years. I've been making a living as a guitar teacher in the Boston area for fourteen years now, and I teach in two locations - Brighton and Dedham. Prior to that I also taught at Guitar Attention Center in Springfield, Ohio while I was in college, where I graduated with honors at Wright State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications.
I've also played in a variety of original and cover bands, and have written a number of songs of my own. I'm working on recording these as instrumentals in my home studio.
I also play in a rock cover band called Element 78. We play out every weekend, and even on some Sundays. The singer and I have also started doing some acoustic shows on Sundays and Thursdays as well.

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico. Guitarist Guillermo O. start playing guitar at the age of nine. By age 15 he was performing punk and rock music. At age 17 he was accepted to the "Escuela Nacional De Musica" (UNAM) where he studied classical guitar. He has performed with famous comedian Eugenio Dervez in the biggest Stadium in Mexico. Guillermo also composed the music for several documentaries, and short movies. In 2003 he attended Berklee College of Music and graduated with a degree in Jazz Composition and Performance. Guillermo also composed the music for the original musical play "Beyond the Journey" . It was performed as a stage reading on 42nd Street in New York, NY in 2010. Guillermo has been working as a music teacher since 2005. He teaches private instruction and group and ensemble lessons as well as composition, harmony, sight reading and music theory.

George has been playing guitar and bass since 1994, teaching since 1999. He has been playing the drums and piano since 2000 and has been teaching since 2005. He is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also has a Masters in Music from the illustrious Duquesne University. He has played and recorded on numerous recording sessions, has played and recorded internationally and maintains a steady pulse in the local music scene. George is also a professional recording engineer, so while not in a lesson he is usually recording, editing or mixing for other clients.

I have been playing the bass guitar and guitar for about fifteen years, where I have specialized in Funk, Funk-Rock, Alternative Rock, and Reggae. The bass guitar is my primary instrument, as I currently play in a Funk-Rock group that has performance experience in New Orleans and Boston.

Music is my passion! It is involved in every detail of my life, everyday of my life! Therefore, being able to teach others the skills that I have been so lucky to possess, i believe, is a gift! Being extremely versatile and able to play a wide variety of instruments (guitar, bass, mandolin, trumpet, music theory, composition and recording) as well as being familiar and experienced with almost any kind of music you can think of, I am able to help any student get exactly what he wants out of every lesson. I believe that the next generation of musicians are so vitally important to the continued creation of incredible music, music that changes the world! Without that first nudge out the door, who knows what the world could be missing out on! Lets keep the music alive! I have been teaching for about 6 years, through company studios and my own home. I have seen some amazing students walk in and out my door in this time and its the greatest feeling to hear students improve so much...

I'm a guitarist with four years' of college-level instruction. I have a deep understanding of music theory and songwriting, especially in the pop, rock, blues, and metal styles. I have formed and lead a rock band with two CD's under its belt, and I have written everything from hymns to 1980's power ballads to string quartets. I know how music works. I know how to dissect it, explain it, and construct it.

On the educational side, I have over three years' teaching experience. I have taught the SAT's and critical writing to high-schoolers, I currently teach English to middle and high school students in south Boston, I routinely substitute teach in K-6th grade classrooms, and I have passed every state exam to obtain official teacher licensure in Massachusetts. I enjoy teaching, especially to young children and beginners.

Mickey began drumming at age six and has been busy making music ever since. As a young kid she studied concert snare drumming and jazz drumming with Matt Gordy, and later moved on to study rock, funk, and world music with Boston legend Dean Johnston (Superhoney, Club d’Elf). She simultaneously pursued her interest in songwriting by learning to play guitar, piano, and to sing and record songs onto a 4-track tape machine. At the age of 16 she decided to get her GED instead of graduating high school, and subsequently moved to Olympia WA to attend The Evergreen State College at age 17.

While at Evergreen, Mickey studied everything from creative writing, book making/letterpress, farming, and music therapy. Her primary focus was studying the ways in which creative arts can be used as a tool for personal transformation. Through this work her interest in teaching music began to grow, and for the past three years she has been teaching private drum lessons with students of all ages....
