Piano with Yingran T.

Composer and pianist Yingran T. began her music studies with piano lessons at age six. She made her solo recital debut in her native Beijing at the age of twelve and as a young student was a frequent prizewinner in local events. Ms. T. received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of China in 2010. A desire for more advanced training led her to Baltimore’s Peabody Institute, from which she received a Masters degree in music composition in 2014. While at Peabody she continued to pursue training in solo piano as well. Notable teachers include Dr. Jiayin Shen and Dr. Geoffrey Wright. An experienced teacher in both China and the United States, Ms. T. has taught in both classroom and individual lesson settings. She currently balances her varied interests in music as a composer, performer, and teacher and is based in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metro areas.
