About Me

Weslie believes that if someone wants to sing, there is nothing more fun or satisfying than learning how to be the best vocalist they can be. Weslie concentrates on building breath control, strenghening the vocal chords, and focusing the ear so that one can sing with confidence and passion. She loves teaching all ages and all styles, and uses Orff techniques to help improve pitch and rhythm. Also, Weslie feels very strongly about self-expression, and urges students to work on songs they truly ... enjoy.
Weslie also enjoys teaching music composition and songwriting to beginning and intermediate students.
Well-versed in music theory, popular song styles and poetic writing, Weslie will help you expand in your creative endeavors.

Weslie has sung folk, rock, jazz and theatre music in Los Angeles, New York, and across the US and Canada. She has appeared on the Jay Leno Show as well as in local music venues, such as the Troubadour and Luna Park. She did her undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music, specializing in jazz arranging. She is currently earning her Masters in Music Composition at Cal State Los Angeles, where she has earned the Kim/Levenson Scholarship for 2009 - 2010. Her compositions are diverse and are influenced by vast array of genre and styles.

Weslie wants all of her music students, whatever their age, to excel. She will create a lesson plan specifically designed for you, so that you may confidently work towards your musical goals. Weslie is confident that she can even help those students who consider themselves tone-deaf (NO SUCH THING!) or have previously felt misunderstood by music instructors.
