Victoria B. is a well-known and frequently requested orchestral performer in the San Bernardino County, Orange County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles County areas. She is a regular performer with the Redlands Symphony, and also holds a piccolo/flute position in the highly acclaimed American Youth Symphony. Victoria is currently in her second year of study in the Masters’ degree program at the University of Redlands School of Music where she studies flute performance under the expert tutelage of Sara Andon. Before pursuing a Masters’ degree in Flute Performance, Victoria completed a double degree at the University of Redlands in Music Performance and Music Education. Throughout her time at Redlands, Victoria has served as principal flute in the University Orchestra and University Wind Ensemble, and has also been a winner of the highly distinguished University of Redlands Presidents’ Honor Recital on four separate occasions. In addition to her invaluable instruction from Sara Andon, Victoria is privileged to have also worked in master class settings and private instruction with Mary Bestgen, Florence Estrin, Eileen Holt, Sarah Jackson, Jim Walker, Walfrid Kujala, John Barcellona, Thomas Robertello, Paul-Edmund Davies, Ransom Wilson, and Jeanne Baxtresser. Victoria is also a passionate teacher and is a fully credentialed teacher in the state of California. She is an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and the world-renown honors society Pi Kappa Lambda. She is also a proficient pianist, having studied piano since the age of 4. Victoria maintains an active private flute and piano studio and is always looking for new enthusiastic learners. *** Lesson Details *** My students can expect to have fun while they learn music literacy and the wonderful art and technique of playing a new instrument. I am friendly, positive, and upbeat in my teaching, yet I also maintain high standards for my students. I have a very warm personality and and very patient with my students, but of course I challenge them as well! I also put on a recital for my students at least twice a year so that their friends and family can appreciate the hard work they have put into their musical development. Performance venues for my students have included retirement homes, universities, and community centers. I encourage chamber music and organize for my students to play duets, trios, or quartets with each other. *** Studio Equipment *** Music stand, keyboard/piano *** Travel Equipment *** Flute students must have a music stand and instrument. Method books and sheet music will be discussed and decided upon in lessons. Piano students MUST have either a real piano OR an electronic keyboard with WEIGHTED KEYS, and must be a full keyboard of 88 keys. Failure to secure an appropriate instrument within the first 3-5 lessons will seriously affect the students' ability to retain the information we will learn in lessons. *** Specialties *** I am a classically trained flutist and pianist. I also have experience in playing jazz music and improvisation.

Victoria is an excellent teacher. The way she imparts knowledge makes sure you can't forget it. As an adult student, I do not have any trouble remembering the information she's teaching me. Victoria is also very patient, and respectful, which makes communicating with her even easier. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher!
