Valerie received her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee and earned her Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance and Opera, and a Certificate in Musical Theater from Northwestern University. During her time in school she performed as Pamina in Die Zauberfl te, Abigail in the Crucible, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Monteen in Parade. She played Papagena in The Magic Flute while she was a Resident Opera Artist at the Pine Mountain Music Festival in Michigan. She attended the Lucerne Festival Academy in Lucerne,Switzerland, where she was a soloist with the Festival Chorus and Orchestra.
