"very patient gives you time to understand doesn't mind questions very nice very..."Welcome to Val's Music Studio!
Whether you are an experienced musician or an amateur, or just in the beginning of your educational journey, whether you need to improve your theory knowledge or need to get more confidence for an upcoming addition, whether you like classical music or want to try out for that next American Idol, I can help you to get started, open up your potentials, or bring your skills to the next level.
It's been eighteen years since I started teaching. I began my musical education in Siberian City of Tomsk , where I learned all the basics. After getting my Bachelors in Music Education and Chorus Conducting I was accepted to a Music College by Moscow State Conservatory in the name of P.I. Tchaikovsky, where I studied opera and voice. Upon getting my Bachelor in Voice I decided to continue my education at the Russian Academy of Music (Gnessin Institute) where I started to learn vocal pedagogy. Then I moved to the United States where I got my Masters in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy at the Roosevelt University ( Chicago College of Performing Arts - The Music Conservatory).
I pride myself in assisting my students with help on discovering their artistic potential, guiding them to overcome obstacles to make the most of their training, and I stress nurturing their natural talents so that they can bring themselves closer to reaching their musical goals.
I was lucky to participate in the number of exciting musical events during my musical career including: three seasons at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, five seasons at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus, as well as performing with Chicago Grant Park Chorus, participating and being awarded in Bel Canto Competition, Glinka International Competition, Moscow Music Festival. I had a chance to study in Master Classes with some of the biggest stars in opera like Evgeny Nesterenko, Galina Vishnevskaya and Deborah Voight. My great appreciation and love for music brought me opportunities to work with some of the most important and greatest names in music industry today such as Samuel Ramey, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Eva Marton, Matti Salmonen, Daniel Barenboim, and Pierre Boulez. Additionally, many years of composing sparked my interest in professional music production which gave me opportunities to further my musical career as a producer and composer.
I had great opportunities to teach voice techniques, theory of music, solfeggio and piano, domestically as well as internationally ( Paris , Moscow , Dubai ) and worked with wide variety of musical genres. My main goal in teaching is to provide my students with strong knowledge, as well as to develop professional attitude, build up the skills that are necessary for future success, and to motivate them always to expand and improve their own talents. I welcome all students who are inspired by music, want to develop or improve their skills and would enjoy a great learning environment.
Dear Student, it takes a long time to find a right teacher but if you looking for the one who is professional but not snobbish, challenging but fun, passionate but delicate, you have come to the right place:) I am looking forward to meet up with you soon.
