Lesson Details

I am dedicated to bringing-out the very best in each student. Lesson are hand-crafted to meet students' musical needs and preferences. Learning and fun are not mutually exclusive! I want the love of music and the joy it brings to be the reason you/ your child wants to practice piano and attend lessons.
The rapport between student and teacher is one of the most important factors of your lessons, which is why I consider it a priority that each student feel comfortable with me and enjoy every ... aspect of their personalized lessons.
Although I'm a classical pianist, I also teach Disney songs and contemporary/ pop music. Proper technique is stressed regardless of experience level or age. NYSSMA participation is encouraged, if applies, with 'outstanding' results on average.
Parents and visitors are welcome to sit-in on lessons which are held in my home music studio. Lesson plans and homework assignments are personalized for each student. It is highly recommended that you have a keyboard or piano for yourself or your child on which to practice weekly homework assignments. I sometimes encourage the use of music apps at home to further assist note-reading and music theory, and I show parents and students how to get the most out of recommended apps. It's important that my students love learning music theory and/or piano both in the lesson and at home.

I'm a friendly, patient, enthusiastic, experienced, competent, & compassionate piano teacher, M.A. music, instructing piano professionally since 1999. Lessons with me are fun, personalized and productive! Music transcends words, and I have a deep understanding of music/piano, both personal/experiential and technical/academic which I truly enjoy sharing with my students. I am a full-time piano teacher, and my loyal students seem to share my passion for piano.
A classically-trained pianist ... with an Master of Arts in music theory, I've been taking piano lessons since age 6 and playing "by ear" since age 2. I continued to study piano throughout high school and in college with additional concentrations in music therapy and psychology. In graduate school I studied piano and music theory with David Holzman, world-renowned Grammy-nominated pianist and lecturer. I've been studying piano with my mentor, Prof. Holzman, 2004-present, always striving to meet new musical goals. With it's up's and down's, I understand (and love) the journey and the process of mastering new classical pieces and exploring new genres. Enthusiastic and understanding, I draw from my own experience to motivate and inspire my students- from whom I learn so much.
