    About Travis E.

My students love their music lessons, and they love me, too! I have a calm and patient demeanor that parents are often amazed by, and I nurture relationships of mutual trust and respect with my students. I have a bachelor's degree in music education in addition to Suzuki Association certifications and a professional educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education. I tend towards the Suzuki Method. I am also well-versed in "traditional" music learning methods. I have enough experience to know that excellence can be achieved when deeper learning occurs and broad concepts are broken down into small, achievable goals. I excel at seeing the big picture, or long term goal, while having a keen attention to detail for the smaller task at hand. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide copies of the music for the first lesson, but after that I will expect students to provide their own music books. I ask that students provide their own instrument and music stand for in-home lessons. *** Specialties *** My specialty is teaching classical violin and viola. I teach technique using the Suzuki School method, and I teach how to read music using the Essential Elements method books. The age group I have the most experience with is 5-13
