Violin with Tom C.

My name is Tom C.. I began my musical career at age 8, when I started taking piano lessons. At the age of 10, I started playing the violin in the Lincoln Park Academy Orchestra. While in high school, I spent my summers at Sewanee Music Festival in Tennessee, and Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. I started playing in the Treasure Coast Symphony at age 13, the youngest member of the symphony at the time. I was selected to play in the Florida All-State Orchestra, the UCF Honors Orchestra, and the Four-County Honors Orchestra. My past education has allowed me to study with Sergiu Schwartz, Igor Markstein, Dr. John Enyart, and Matt Stott. In April 2004, I won the Treasure Coast Symphony’s Young Artist Scholarship Award. I further increased my experience in music by playing with the North Carolina Civic Symphony and Chamber Orchestra while studying with Jose Bastardes at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Most recently I held the position of Concertmaster with the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra in Fort Pierce, FL. I have studied the various pedagogues of famous violin teachers and use their techniques along with some of my own to develop a lesson program that works for each individual student's needs and goals.
