I graduated from the Los Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, California, where I had the chance to study under some of LA's top professional drummers, including Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro, and Michael Packer. Before that, I studied with Lynn Glassock at the University of North Carolina. I've been playing drums for over 20 years. Right now I'm busy playing with the party/wedding band Modern Bliss, and I've spent the last year performing up and down the east coast, the midwest, and in Canada. *** Lesson Details *** I've studied with some incredible players and teachers and I am always excited to share what I've learned with other drummers. We can cover a number or musical genres in our lessons, from rock to jazz to Afrocuban. Other topics can include sight reading, chart writing and reading, technique, or rhythmic concepts like polyrhythms or odd time signatures. *** Specialties *** I have studied and played many genres, including rock, jazz, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, funk, and country. I have the most experience in rock settings, but I am comfortable teaching any of these styles. I've also studied the technical side of drumming, and love exploring topics like hand and foot technique, polyrhythms, and odd time signatures.
