I am confident in teaching all styles of both acoustic and electric guitar. I take an approach that addresses both standard music notation and guitar tablature combined with music theory.

Lesson Details

Students learn how to read guitar tablature and basic rhythm, learning at least one easy song within the very first lesson! Students continue to learn songs by artists of their choosing as well as pieces recommended by the teacher. Students become familiar with guitar maintenance, such as tuning and changing strings. As students progress, they learn the fundamentals of music theory, extended techniques, and composition. Other exercises include ear training and improvisation in the styles of ... blues, jazz, rock, metal and classical.

I am very patient and approachable during lessons. I believe learning music should be an enjoyable experience and have never discouraged a student or laughed at a mistake. At the same time, students must understand that it takes practice and patience to progress.

I was first introduced to music (on piano) at an early age and later fell in love with the guitar. I studied both acoustic and electric guitar under private instructors through my middle and high school years, and enjoyed every moment. I have always enjoyed listening to a wide range of music artists and genres, and am very open to learning more and expanding my knowledge in music. My pursuit to become a better musician has led me to Riverside Community College where I am currently studying ... classical guitar performance and music theory.

Whether you are completely new to the guitar or if you already have experience playing guitar, I can help you sharpen your skill and technique to help shape you into a better player and well rounded musician.

Learning how to play the guitar can be a lot of fun, and it can also be challenging. As a teacher, I help students by guiding them through the process of learning the instrument in a way they can understand in order to minimize frustration, and achieve musical goals.
