Stan began playing trumpet at age nine with the music program at his elementary school. He displayed natural ability and excelled, winning many awards during school years. He was principal trumpet in the All Southern California High School Orchestra in 1974. By the late 70’s Stan was touring and recording with two groups; SIDE EFFECT and THE L.A. BOPPERS and continued until 1982. From the late 1980’s through 2001 Stan toured extensively with many contemporary artists, including Latin Jazz star PONCHO SANCHEZ, with whom he recorded 2 albums. He was the lead trumpet for PAUL ANKA, DONNA SUMMER and TOM JONES and performed for their world tours. Stan has also performed as a lead and solo trumpet player for many notable Jazz artists including STANLEY CLARKE. He accompanied BARRY MANILOW as featured trumpet soloist for 3 years including his 2001 tribute to Sinatra world tour. Stan has enjoyed participating in the Long Beach Municipal band as featured soloist every summer for more than 20 years. As an Educator, Stan has over 35 years experience as a trumpet coach, giving private and group lessons to students of all ages. He has been involved with the Hayward/ La Honda Music Camp for many years where he serves as the Master clinician for trumpet and as a Jazz Ensemble Director. Stan has also been a counselor and staff member at Arrowbear Music Camp. He directed the jazz band at Miraleste Intermediate School 2002/2003.
