    Lesson Details
Music brings me immense joy, especially singing and I want the same thing for you!
We start each lesson with proper breathing technique, the cornerstone of all vocals. We move on to vocal exercises to condition the voice. Then we work on the songs that you are eager to sing!

I will use a piano when doing vocal warm ups and conditioning exercises. When working on songs I like to procure a recorded accompaniment. This frees me up to concentrate on listening to you sing, rather than my ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Teacher with a Fun Personality and a Great Attitude Stephanie is also so much fun to work with. She makes you feel extremeley comfortable at each lesson and really helps you move forward to acheive your goal. She also knows a lot about music (especially Broadway) and is really fun to chat with. A great choice for older/adult students! May 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very relaxed, no pressure, reassuring, fun Stephanie is really great at creating space for you to learn and participate. I never feel self conscious about singing or doing the exercises, just free to give it a try and not afraid to mess up. She is really good about changing her instruction and tailoring it to how I am responding or what is going on with me that day. If I'm stuck on something for instance, she will switch the exercises so that I am really learning more about myself and my voice and how to feel and switch what I'm doing like if I'm forcing it or something. Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly recommend Stephanie is a very talented teacher. I made lots of progress in just my first few lessons in confidence and my voice. She has specific techniques that you can use right away and gives homework to do each week. I like how she has lots of exercises in her repetoire and keeps on top of her e-mails and messages. Highly recommend. November 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephanie really taught me how to sing in front of others, which I have never had the courage to do before. I have gotten better after only approx. 7 lessons which I did not expect to be so shortly. She has given me the courage to learn how to play the guitar, write my own songs, and hopefully I can take my singing to a more professional level. I am very grateful for what I have learned :) July 28, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Patient, Encouraging & Effective Singing Teacher I've wanted to sing for years and finally decided to take some lessons. Stephanie was a great choice for me because she is a patient and nurturing teacher. Though I'm a total beginner, Stephanie is very encouraging and I really enjoy how she structures each lesson so there is a great balance between vocal exercises and actual practice of songs. I'm pleasantly surprised how quickly Stephanie has been able to help me boost my confidence and improve my technique. March 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent job with my 11 year old! Stephanie has worked with my 11 yr old daughter for the past couple months, helping her get ready for an audition. She taught her how to breathe, project & become confident in herself. Stephanie even picked out the perfect song for my daughter to sing. We think she nailed her audition! Thank you Stephanie! • Getting Started

Excited about jumping into music lessons? Before you can get to the guitar tabs, violin concertos, and vocal riffs, take a moment to think about the logistics of your lessons.
    Lesson Length
There are a few things to consider when choosing between 30-, 45- or 60-minute lessons. First and foremost, take your age and experience level into account. You'll also want to think about your long- and short-term goals, and the time you'll need to reach them. Most importantly, consider how long you or your child is able to stay focused.
    Lesson Location
Teachers have the option to display availability for in-home, in-studio, and online music lessons. In-home lessons take place at your house, in-studio lessons are conducted at the teacher's home or professional studio, and online lessons are taught over the internet via live video chat.

    Payment and Billing
We make paying for your lessons convenient and hassle-free! Prices vary based on several factors, including the city you live in, the length of your lessons, and whether you're taking them at home, in your teacher's studio, or online. Lessons are paid for in advance, which locks in your time slot.
    Signing Your Customer Agreement
Signing your Customer Agreement and completing your Student Questionnaire is the last step! The questionnaire will give your instructor valuable information about your goals and experience level, and give him or her time to create a customized lesson plan right from the start.

    Start Your Lessons

Now the excitement can really begin! Consider the following to ensure an exceptional first lesson...
    Prepare for Your First Lesson
Once you've completed the last step, your teacher will call you within the next couple of days to confirm your first lesson time and provide you with directions to their studio, if needed. We also encourage you to discuss your goals and any other questions you may have.
    What To Expect
Every teacher is different, but most first lessons begin with an assessment of where you are in your studies. At a beginner level, you might review the basics of your instrument, such as the different parts, how to hold it correctly, and proper care and maintenance. For voice, this may be the time you learn about breathing and posture.
    Reach the Goals You Set
Every TakeLessons student is unique, and so is your lesson plan! You'll work with your instructor to develop a plan suited to meet your specific goals. Most TakeLessons instructors will also keep track of your progress with a lesson journal.

    Programs & Pricing

The billing management tools in your online account help you keep track of your upcoming payments. And with several lesson programs available, you can select the one that fits your individual needs.
    100% Money Back Guarantee
If you're not completely satisfied with your first lesson, we'll gladly find you another instructor or refund your entire lesson purchase.
Can I pay when I get to the lesson?
In order to reserve your time slot, we require payment at the time of booking, which must be at least seven days before your first lesson takes place.
