I have found that using the Essential Elements methods and Suzuki Methods students seem to be very successful.

Lesson Details

When you begin taking lessons I use a more laid back approach when I first meet you. I like to find out what your goals are so I can help you or your child be the best that they can be. Depending on what level you are I like to use a mixture of Essential Elements and Suzuki. I feel that both of these methods have very strong points. One thing specifically that I focus on is posture. After about 6 months of playing I would expect that you have learned at least 6 new rhythms as well as at ... least 6 or 7 scales. Lessons will be fun as long as we are open about how much time is spent practicing and how you are practicing. I do expect that you are practicing so that we can make a lot of progress at each lesson.

I recently graduated from Illinois State University as a double major in Music Education and Violin Performance this past December. Currently I am a substitute teacher for Maine Township District 207 and I private lesson instructor. I have played with many orchestras and groups including; the Classical Symphony Orchestra, Protege Philharmonic, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Chamber Orchestra, ... Northwestern University Community Orchestra, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and many smaller ensembles. I am still currently playing violin with the Classical Symphony Orchestra and the Protege Philharmonic.
