Hello! My name is Sev, a San Diego based pianist and composer of 24 years. My primary focus as an educator is making music as absolutely fun as possible, allowing the student freedom to study what they're most interested in. I seek to give aspiring musicians the skills they need, at any level, to continue to progress on their journey as a musician. I was fortunate enough to take lessons from amazing and empathetic teachers, and so it is my goal to carry that tradition on so that the student's passion for music can only grow! I'm well versed in a wide range of styles, from baroque to jazz, and everything in between. I have an extensive performance background, as well, from supporting church bands to solo concerts, and digital productions. My curriculum is dynamic, adjusting to each students need alongside their goals. At a basic level, I incorporate music theory as well as ear training into my piano lessons. This ensures the highest level of musicianship for the student, refining them into well-rounded musicians with the ability to tackle anything they're interested in. I wholeheartedly believe we can maximize potential while having a blast doing it! I allow the student freedom to follow their musical curiosities and select their repertoire, if they so desire.
