I am comfortable teaching a wide variety of genres. I have experience teaching rock drumming, free jazz and experimental, classical and modern percussion, classical piano, and a little bit of jazz. I am also comfortable teaching music theory (solfege, melodic dictation, sight-singing, and sight-reading) and I have a great deal of experience helping students build confidence as performers.

Lesson Details

Shayna has been teaching music to students of all ages in schools and privately for over 5 years. Lessons will take place at your house or at a fully equipped percussion studio with a piano at an artsy vibrant neighborhood in NYC.

Shayna has worked as a teacher of percussion, piano, music theory and history for over five years and has a great deal of experience working with children, high school students and adults. I first was very nervous to go to the first class as it's been a long time since I've been out of school and didn't know how difficult it will be to learn something so intricate. However, Shayna was very understanding and took her time to explain everything to me in detail. She is also flexible with time and is willing to work with you to come to a win win situation. I would recommend her anytime!
