I hold a BA in Music Education with an emphasis in piano performance. My experience includes accompanying choirs, small groups, and soloists; playing keyboard in a band; performing in a duo piano ensemble for community functions; performing as part of an orchestra; and playing keyboard in the studio. I began teaching in high school, when my first students were neighbor children, and I discovered the satisfaction the comes with introducing music into people's lives. I enjoy teaching all ages. My students have ranged from beginners to advanced. My students (and their parents) comment on my patience and enthusiasm. I welcome more students to inspire with a love a music! *** Lesson Details *** Each new student brings so much potential. It's my goal to discover what a student's unique traits are so I can motivate continued learning. Lessons establish a strong foundation in keyboard skills and music theory. From there, I encourage students to pursue goals that may range from mastering Bach to conquering a Gershwin song to playing Carrie Underwood arrangements of favorites. Students learn about music history and well known composers, too. A better understanding of music means a deeper enjoyment of it.
