My name is Seth and I currently have my bachelors degree in music technology while percussion as my principle instrument. I have been doing percussion for 16 years, and am in process of obtaining my masters in music tech. Music is life and something important for young children to learn. It is my goal to teach students how to learn percussion starting from the basics, and progressing them through more advance techniques. I want them to have a strong background so if they wish to further pursue music as a career that they will be prepared for college. My approach: When I teach, I first start the student off on the snare drum. Snare drum will help establish certain principles that are important in percussion. Every instrument in percussion has its own techniques but getting the snare drum down first will help the student progress further in the field of percussion. As time passes and the student has progressed through the lessons I will introduce them to more percussion instruments that I can supply during the lesson. Also if the student wishes to focus on a specific percussion instrument I will help them with their desired focus, but also introduce other instruments as it is important for percussionists to have an idea of all the major instruments used in percussion. I also teach adults, as music is something anyone can learn. Anyone can learn to play an instrument, but all it takes is time to learn. If you wish to know more information please contact me. Currently I do lessons online and travel to the students home. I do travel more than 10 miles to teach.
