Starting my professional career at the age of 13 and culminating in a Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from The Juilliard School, I have a unique perspective on how to motivate my students to maximize their potential! I have been playing drums for over 25 years and singing since I can remember. I have played thousands and thousands of gigs. Recorded commercials, played Drums for Rent on Broadway among other off-broadway productions including Cougar:The Musical, Shlomo: The Musical and I Love You Because. I am currently the lead singer for a Soundgarden Tribute Band. Chris Cornell is one of the most revered voices in rock history, and I am able to emulate his signature sound so closely that one reviewer said "When I close my eyes, I hear Soundgarden!" Lessons are tailored to each students individual needs and goals. I stress technique at the start to make sure the student doesn't develop any habits that will need to be addressed later. I put an emphasis on being able to read music from the very start while keeping the lessons interesting and fun! Unlike many other teachers, I also give students valuable insight on how to maximize their practice time. I know how busy things can get, and I can help the student get the most out of each practice session! In short, lessons with me are fun, inspirational and well rounded. Emphasis is placed on technique and ability to read music as long as the student desires that style of learning. After all, music is a language. When you go to school you don't just learn how to speak a language, you have to know how to read it and write it! Why should music be any different? But, every student is different, so, I'm open to any style of learning that will foster the goals of the student. I also place emphasis on real--world, practical solutions and tips to get the student playing out live as quickly as possible, if that is what they desire. *** Studio Equipment *** Full Drumkit live and onllne. *** Travel Equipment *** Pricing includes lessons only. If traveling to your location, I can bring a drum pad and sticks. If a full drumkit is needed, the student should have one or we will find an independent studio that will be factored into the lesson price or they can come to my studio.
