Music theory clearly explains all music questions and is demonstrated on each instrument . I teach all aspects of music on the instrument chosen to learn. You work at your own pace. I coach, teach and share my knowledge with you as you absorb at your own speed. The purpose of taking lessons is to have fun learning the art, craft and performance of music. I play other instruments with you to accompany your playing so you can feel what it is like to perform in a real music setting. You will learn to take charge of your instrument through your gradual understanding of how music is put together. I am dedicated at helping you reach all of the realistic music goals that you set for yourself and to help you become the musician you believe you can be. *** Lesson Details *** All lessons are designed to increase your knowledge of your instrument and of the structure of music as applied to the instrument. Time will be spent on technique on your chosen instrument. For drums I teach all 40+ rudiments, simple to complex stickings, all music styles like Rock, Latin, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop,Country, Pop, writing, reading, rhythms, grooves and the many ways to interpret what to do on the drum set. On guitar, bass & piano, I teach you to read and how to play and understand all musical keys, including all the diverse scales, arpeggios, simple to complex chords and chord inversions, lead patterns, finger picking, rhythms and music theory as applied to each situation you will be learning. The way you perceive the instrument and music in general will change with each new concept taught to you. I have thousands of songs to choose from and you can bring in your own song preferences, too. *** Studio Equipment *** I have drums, guitars, amps, bass and piano at my home studio as well as use another studio locally which is fully equipped with instruments and practice rooms. *** Travel Equipment *** If I come to your home , you must have a professionally set up space where I can work with you without having to bring extra equipment. I will bring only what is necessary to teach you but you must have the instruments, amps or drums there for us to work together properly. Music notebooks, sheet music, CD's and anything useful for learning can be bought as we make progress and have the need to introduce new materials. *** Specialties *** My biggest specialty is that I play many instruments well and have deep music theory knowledge which helps solve any & all music issues other than developing technique which just takes lots of practice. I play these other instruments along with you to provide a real sense of being involved in the rhythm section of the band. This helps you to become a better player and a musician quicker than if you just played without accompaniment on bass, guitar, drums or piano. Your musical awareness increases greatly when you play in context to other musical "voices." I also am available to teach Band when there are enough players willing enough & available to create one.
