Violin with Sarah A.

 Violinist Sarah A. is an emerging artist within the solo, chamber, and orchestral fields. She is currently completing her Masters at New England Conservatory with Tamara Smirnova, Associate Concertmaster of Boston Symphony Orchestra. Performances include Carnegie’s Perelman Hall with the New York String Orchestra and Carnegie’s Weill Hall in a performance of solo Paganini. First place winner of the 2014 American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition, recipient of the 2013 Presser Award and Boston University’s 2013 Departmental Honors Award, Sarah has won both Grand and First Prizes in BU's Solo Bach Competition, in addition to concerto competitions throughout New England. She has played in masterclasses for Donald Weilerstein, Alexander Markov, and Ida Haendel, among others. Sarah performs with Emmanuel Music, Boston Philharmonic, Cantata Singers, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and substitutes for the New World Symphony. Festivals include Sarasota Music Festival, Yellow Barn Music Festival, and Tanglewood Music Center. Sarah is part of NEC’s Chamber Orchestra, a select number of musicians who perform without conductor. Sarah has 10 years of teaching experience with both individuals and in group settings, including sectionals and school visits.
