Currently residing in New York, I recently moved all the way from Music City. I have over 16 years of playing experience and over 6 years of teaching experience. My playing experience ranges from orchestral performance, early music ensemble performance, performing at large summer festivals such as Bonnaroo and SXSW, performing with the Trans Siberian Orchestra and making two national television appearances. I am a registered instructor with the Suzuki Association of the Americas with training in Books 1-3. As a student of the Suzuki Method myself, I am a firm believer that anyone can learn to play the violin and understand the importance of a nurturing environment and teaching techniques. *** Lesson Details *** As an instructor and musical mentor, my lessons are very laid back and personal. I develop relationships with all my students to better understand their learning style and personality. Within the first few lessons, you will learn the different parts of the violin and how to care for your instrument. I will show you correct posture and positioning necessary to hold and play your violin. Within the first 3-6 months, we will begin working out of the Suzuki Violin books. Starting with book one and moving forward from there. I also introduce reading within the first few months using Joanne Martin's 'I Can Read Music' books. Everybody works and learns at their own pace. As an instructor, it's my job to instill inspiration and give you the necessary tools you need to develop your own musical outlet! *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide where to get materials.
