Lesson Details

Samantha believes in teaching the fundamentals of music first, which will make the following lessons easy and fun for the student. She has used a variety of methods on different students and will use whichever method will be best understood by each individual student. She enjoys getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of each student and building on the foundation teacher and student have built together. As a team, teacher and student will put together short and long- term goals and work ... towards each goal with every lesson. Samantha asks each of her students to commit to practicing and to give their best effort at each lesson. If the student can make that commitment, goals will be reached quickly and easily.

The student will also see marked improvements in their school work, attention span, and overall well - being.

Students learn music theory, basic improvisation, harmony, music analysis, technique and interpretation.

About

Samantha started taking piano lessons at age 3 from her mother, who was also a music teacher. She played piano continuously through school, and also learned to play clarinet, guitar, flute, trumpet and sax, often playing different instruments in her school's band. She also learned the violin and cello all before graduating high school and starting college. She started teaching younger students while she was still in High school.

She attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida and ... majored in Piano Performance under the watchful eye of Mr. Daniel Nagy from Brazil. She transferred to Clearwater Christian College, also in FL, her Junior year to study with Dr. Craig Ralston. There she graduated with a BS in Music.

After graduation she took a position at Seffner Christian Academy, near Tampa. There she taught Beginning and Intermediate Band and assisted the Advanced Band class. She also coached the JV Girls Basketball team and was Assistant Coach on the Varsity, as well as coaching PE classes.

Knowing that fresh air is vital to a child's development and a person's well-being, she is also a certified riding instructor, and trains and shows Hunter/Jumper horses.

From there, she returned home to Delaware to teach at Milford Music Center's music school, owned by her mother. This was also the same school where she learned to play most of her instruments and where she taught throughout High School.

Now in Macungie Pennsylvania, she is passing her love of music to her students as well as her passion for horses to her riding students.
