Guitar is one of the most versatile instruments and one of the most fun instruments to play.  I help students gain the technique, and know-how to play the music that they love.  I believe in a relaxed lesson environment where students can enjoy learning to play.

I got my degree in music from the University of Vermont in 2009.  I've played guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo and ukulele with in rock bands, bluegrass bands, country bands, and as a solo performer.  As a member of Actors' Equity Association, I've performed professional throughout North America as an actor, singer and instrumentalist. 

I have experience teaching kids and adults. I love playing and teaching a wide range of styles and genres. 

My love of music is contagious.

Sam is a wonderful teacher. I was frustrated with myself because I couldn't learn how to play ukulele before (my fingers were so inflexible). But after one class (30 minutes), I was able to play three chords! Sam did promise that I'll be able to learn and he was true to his word. Thanks, Sam!

Sam is the best!

My 6 year old daughter decided she wanted to play the mandolin, and Sam sounded perfect. He is! Sam has a wonderful way with children. He is kind, patient, and gives excellent directions. Makes mom want to play, too!
