I have been teaching music privately for the past 15 years. I have also taught public school music for the past 11 years and I currently hold a California teaching license. I have a BA in Music and a Masters' in teaching. I have played the piano and worked as a Music Director for bands and churches for the past 12 years. I have studied and played the blues in the Mississippi Delta and I have studied and played Rock and Jazz here in Hollywood CA. I have also studied the world famous Orff music pedagogy at SMU in Dallas, TX. My approach to teaching music is a combination of formal and traditional pedagogy. I tailor lessons to the goals and desires of the individual students and we then set a detailed plan designed to achieve the musical goals.
