Music and teaching are my two life passions. I have been teaching music for over 10 years and playing for over 15. I was born and raised in Southern California and attended Newport Harbor High School. Upon graduating, I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where I studied Guitar and Music Business. After graduating from Berklee, I received my Early Childhood Teacher Certification and worked as both a preschool and toddler teacher in addition to teaching music lessons. I am experienced with all age levels from the youngest children to the oldest adults. I make learning music a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone! *** Lesson Details *** The ultimate goal of our lessons together is to accomplish YOUR goals. There is a reason why you are drawn to music. Maybe it's songwriting. Maybe you want to become the best guitar player in the world. Maybe you want your child to learn a skill they'll have the rest of their life. Whatever it may be, we'll work together to accomplish it...and have a lot of fun along the way! Because every student is different, there is no one set way to teach a lesson. Each lesson will be geared specifically toward you. If your main goal is to learn songs, we will work on techniques that will build up your skill set to give you the necessary tools to learn songs. Whatever your goal is we'll find a way to get you there. *** Studio Equipment *** 250 Square foot carpeted studio with private entrance and parking lot. Seating available for parents. There are guitars you can borrow/use *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide all equipment if necessary. I would prefer the student have amplification if they plan an electric instrument *** Specialties *** I specialize in all genre's on the guitar. I studied primarily jazz, fusion, and country while at Berklee but prefer playing and teaching rock and acoustic/folk music. In addition to playing I have also studied both classical and jazz theory at the highest level.

Ryan is an engaging instructor whose flexible teaching style can meet the needs of students at any level. I can read music, but knew nothing about guitar. He set me up for success from the very beginning and presents enough challenge and encouragement to keep me going. He is personable, friendly, helpful. It's easy to see why he works so well with everyone, from kids to seniors!

Excellent and patient teacher! Ryan is a very talented musician and is able to share that through his teaching. He is very articulate and patient during each lesson, which I especially appreciate. And he pays attention to what your personal goals might be and the type of music that you like. I look forward to my weekly Monday night lessons with Ryan! It gets my week off to a fun start!
