    About Ryan D.

I've been a professional musician and teacher for 15 years, having played in Europe, Australia, Canada, and across the US with lots of different groups. I've even played on the Late Show with David Letterman and the Ellen DeGeneres Show! I love to play all kinds of music including classical violin and viola, but I'm also active as a fiddler in many different styles including bluegrass, old-time, swing, jazz, Irish, and Swedish folk. I play claw-hammer banjo (not three-finger style), and mandolin as well. I have a Master of Music in Violin from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I love teaching because it makes me approach the technical details of music in different ways with each student. I love working with motivated students who come to each lesson with questions. I want to meet you where you're at so that you can see real improvements in your sound and confidence as a musician. I look forward to teaching you! *** Specialties *** Violin and Viola technique, How to practice, Old Time and Bluegrass Fiddle Styles, Improvisation, Rhythmic String Playing.
