I come from a large family of visual, literary, and performing artists. My mother, Clyde W. taught me from age three until I went on to study at the New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School. I have extensive training and performance experience. Alongside my musical endeavors, I have always pursued visual art and the written word, incorporating these mediums into my expressive and teaching practices. I also incorporate physical and biological metaphors into my lessons, bringing basic yoga in where it is useful. I strive to offer a wide breadth of information and ways of thinking as I encourage each student to discover and hone what is innately theirs, using music as the ultimate medium.

I started violin at 18.  I've had about five violin teachers so far, including a university violin professor.  Rosey was my most recent teacher.

Rosey was the most successful at portraying the requirements of the skills I was trying to improve.  She was adept at descriptive language and analogies, which made the lessons easier to understand.  I quickly noticed Rosey's deftness and grace, both in technique demonstration and general body language.

I'd still have her as a teacher, but alas, she moved to Texas.

Roseminna is an artist in the true sense of the word. Her natural intuition for figuring new concepts and problem solving old ones makes her an obvious choice as a teacher for beginning or advanced students. I was lucky enough to work with and get to know Rosey in both the realm of performance and education over the last 5 years, give or take.  Her unique addition to the already existing traditional style of the violin is one that I hope to see more of in the next generation of musicians to come, and one that is definitely worth exploring first hand, through the teacher herself! I highly recommend Roseminna as your next choice for violin, chamber or music lessons of any kind. You will not leave without having had a truly fulfilling musical and personal experience, as her extreme devotion to music, sound, and movement is continuously expressed and practiced in all aspects of her life, a rarity to experience among many other traditional violin teachers. Rosey cares about every note, about every person, and every thought that instigates the desire to play music.
