    About Bob H.

I began my music career singing at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington,D.C. while in third grade. I have degrees in Radio/TV Broadcasting as well as The Music Business with an emphasis on Audio/Visual Engineering. In addition to a lifetime of music, I have been a Radio/TV personality, am an award winning singer/songwriter and I'm currently working on my 5th CD. As a professional singer/actor I have many years of professional musical theater experience. As owner, music arranger and chief engineer of Rising Star recording studio, I received numerous awards for sound design, music production as well as original production music. I truly enjoy the shared learning experience found in teaching music. *** Lesson Details *** "I truly love people and when it comes to teaching, the joy of discovery is the greatest reward, for both student and myself. My overall approach to teaching is to give each student a well rounded knowledge of their instrument and music in an enjoyable, laid back, fun atmosphere, while encouraging them to explore songs they wish to learn as well as writing original music. We will accomplish this through private instruction, music theory and fun discussions about music, musicians and other topics that pertain to music. As a guitarist, I've played music from rock to acoustic, although primarily, I'm an acoustic player. My acoustic style ranges from John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogelberg, the Beatles and other acoustic artists. I have developed a 12 week program for guitar that will enable the student, with practice, to quickly learn to play and pick up music they wish to learn. My professional background as a vocalist covers Rock, Pop, Standards, Big Band, Show tunes, Country, Professional Musical Theater and originals. My wish is to leave the student with professional "tools", enabling them to accomplish any of their music goals. "In Harmony" (pun intended), we will make it happen". *** Studio Equipment *** A designated music area. *** Travel Equipment *** Will provide: Instruction materials (guitar) and a music stand to hold music for lessons. Other books and/or materials as needed. For guitar, a student needs to have a reliable instrument (I'll be happy to offer brand names and basic costs) Also, pencils, spiral notebook and folder to hold lessons, quiet and ample room to take lessons. *** Specialties *** General good teaching techniques. Great with kids. All styles of music. How to move on a stage for clubs, concerts and musicals. How to do Radio and/or TV interviews (acting, musical theater and/or solo or with a band) what songs to choose, press press packs, head shots etc. (I have extensive Radio/TV, theater background as well as live music). How to do press packs and put together press info.
