Lesson Details

I like to keep a relaxed focus during my lessons. I teach by example, based on actually playing the real songs that YOU want to learn to play. I'll look for ways to help you reach your goals, and teach you a little bit about the theory behind it all so you can understand and grow on your own. Just bring your acoustic guitar, some determination and a sense of humor and we're on our way!

I'm Rick and I have been playing guitar for a couple of decades. I specialize in all acoustic styles, including artists like James Taylor, Paul Simon and other "folk rockers". Whether you just want to play some of your favorites, or learn to accompany yourself as you sing, I'm your guy. Strumming, finger-picking and just enough music theory to get you to understand what you're playing...and grow!

Do you need to dig deeper into Music Theory? I'm a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a ... Masters Degree in Theory, so if you need some beginning or advanced level tutoring in this subject, give me a call.
