    About Rich S.

I want to teach YOU the language of music! That's right, music is a LANGUAGE. Perhaps you've never thought about it, but just like English, music has a vocabulary, and a system of methods to put things together. Just like a language, ANYONE can learn it. Ever taken lessons? I have, and I know first hand how boring it can be. You learn to read music notation, learn some Hanon exercises, maybe even a few songs...but it just doesn't click. Well learning the language of music is the missing ingredient! Once you speak it, you can create! From your very first lesson with me, you will have fun creating music. ABOUT ME: What qualifies me to teach? As a full-time musician and teacher in the DMV, I know how to APPLY music theory. I've been performing for over 15 years and have played venues such as The Bayou, National's Park, and major local festivals. I studied piano, songwriting, and arranging for 4 years under 3-time Grammy nominee, Mark Stevens.
