    About Phil H.

Philip has been teaching private lessons since 1988 when he joined the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD. In 1990, he joined the faculty of Michigan State University. Since 1995, he has taught competition winning classical pianists and jazz/pop musicians in Montgomery County. Philip has helped students build their technical mastery of the piano so they can play the level of music they want to play, understand classical and jazz literature deeply, and compete at state and regional levels and/or place in the upper percentile of Royal Academy Assessments. Philip received his training at the Peabody Conservatory (MM) in 1986. He won15 national and international piano competitions and has performed at the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wigmore Hall in London, and around the world in other important concert venues. Philip shows students how to achieve their goals. His teaching style is fun, positive and challenging.
