CLASSICAL PIANO: Perri believes that being a pianist requires a strong foundation in music theory and the expression of one's self while appreciating each piece of music. At the age of 4, she began her training in classical piano with a renowned professor from Changshu LiGong Academy (常熟理工学院) in China. At the age of 6, she obtained The Examination Board of The Shanghai Conservatory of Music Level 2 Degree and later on achieved the Level 6 Degree when she was thirteen. While studying at Suzhou Singapore International School, she was showcased in various music festivals and performances. In 2008, she opened a Musicians Club for Middle School and High School students, specializing in instrumental education including bass guitar, acoustic/electric guitar, piano and percussion. As main director and overseer of club operations, Perri also acted as the primary piano instructor, leading students to express themselves through performances of their favorite piano compositions. In 2010, she achieved the Level 10, the top level of the Certificate of Arts Grade Examination Degree. Growing up in China, she developed an international background and fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English. She sings, plays guitar and piano at the Community Church of Great Neck in Long Island, NY. During her time of service at the church, Perri has led elementary-grade students (Pre-K to Grade 5) to appreciate contemporary music and gospel-influenced worship songs. In 2014, she achieved the ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory with merit. As a Sunday School educator, Perri's genuine passion for educating children is exemplified in her utilization of object lessons, games, videos and other multi-media platforms that ensure effectiveness and efficiency. In addition to her education duties, Perri also assists the Children’s Church Choir at CCGN in the areas of vocal training and stage performances. | Lesson Details | Lessons are specifically designed to fit each student’s goals. I specialize in students aged 2 and up. A strong emphasis is put on building a firm foundation in music theory and piano techniques. Main areas of focus cover rhythm development, ear training, sight reading and performance. I design object lessons and games to help young learners stay focused and engaged. Classes consist of acrylic painting and drawing in the following areas: Still Life, Landscape, Seascape and Floral. Come in and acquire step-by-step painting and drawing techniques as an interactive community! At the end of each 2 hour session, you will be able to: Complete a 9”x12” Acrylic Painting or Drawing. Learn basic acrylic painting or drawing techniques and apply them to your own future projects. Use hands-on fine art tools, including brushes, acrylic paints or drawing sets. Learn proper brush handling and techniques for brushstrokes. Select colors to create depth, perspective, and interest in your paintings.
