-Can anyone learn to sing? Well, anyone can improve their voice and their ear, but if you have no musical background it takes a great deal of regular practice. You should also study music reading and listen to a variety of singing styles. If you do not have good technique, you'll be like the early departures on American Idol, who make fools of themselves because they just try to copy someone else's voice, not learn to use their own voices in the best way possible. Look at "The Voice" winner Chris Mann, who is extremely successful. His success is in great part due to his classical training. -Since earning my Masters Degree from Pacific Lutheran University, I have performed and taught classical, Christian, Broadway, and jazz music, both at my home and as a professor at Trinity Lutheran College and Everett Community College. My stage experience includes numerous musical theatre productions, and performing as a soloist at Seattle's Benaroya hall. *** Lesson Details *** If you are unsure of what you want, just sign up for 1 lesson and see if it's what you want. -Learn correct breathing, articulation, musicianship, self-confidence, control, range, and flexibility -Sing more expressively in different styles and languages. -Sing on stage; prepare an audition for a Broadway musical or other performance -Sing with a teacher with knowledge of the vocal anatomy who teaches vocal technique and can accompany you on the piano. College Credit is also available through Trinity Lutheran College and Everett Community College. *** Studio Equipment *** I teach private lessons out of my home, where I have a Steinway Grand Piano, and a comfortable setting for family members who may want to observe. *** Specialties *** Classical, folk music, opera, Broadway, Christian
