Thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Pauli and I love to play and teach guitar. I have 2 years of experience teaching guitar and ukulele lessons to kids and adults, and am currently tutoring college level theory and ear training at Musicians Institute. 15 years after picking up the guitar, I still love playing every day. I have played all over the world, from England and Denmark to New Orleans, Memphis, and LA. I love playing and listening to jazz, rock, classical, funk, soul, country, gospel, and rockabilly. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or you're looking to take your skill to the next level, I'll encourage and challenge you to reach your goals through the best way to do this - THE LOVE OF PLAYING MUSIC! *** Lesson Details *** The first thing we'll do is assess what your goals are and what kind of music you like. The best motivator is joy and passion! Then, we'll look at the technical aspect of guitar, such as chords, scales, and strumming, and apply that by learning your favorite songs. For the more advanced student, we'll look into specific areas of your playing that you wish to work on. The we'll create a specific plan to help you reach your goals. Most of the learning happens outside of the class room when you're at home practicing. I'll give you homework that will challenge you every week regardless of your skill level. *** Studio Equipment *** Student will bring own guitar. Amplification is provided for electric guitar. *** Travel Equipment *** Student uses own guitar/amp. I will bring electric/acoustic guitar or ukulele. *** Specialties *** I teach a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from rock and pop to classical and more! Specialties include jazz improvisation, acoustic finger-picking, music theory, and ear training.
